Devon Tennyson wouldn't change a thing. She's happy watching Friday night games from the bleachers, silently crushing on best friend Cas, and blissfully ignoring the future after high school. But the universe has other plans. It delivers Devon's cousin Foster, an unrepentant social outlier with a surprising talent for football, and the obnoxiously superior and maddeningly attractive star running back, Ezra, right where she doesn't want them - first into her P.E. class and then into every other aspect of her life.

"First & Then is like first love: profound and stirring, surprising and funny, and utterly delightful." (T. Michael Martin, author of The End Games)
Audio version was very hard to follow. Authors voice did not translate well. Conversations were also very hard to follow because you couldn't tell who was speaking. Characters were underdeveloped. Foster's character and storyline was very enjoyable to follow however his relationship with and the character of Maribel should've been explored more. Devon and Ezra's "relationship" left me like, "Huh?" Because they had the tiniest bit of direct (and minimal) interaction before they were suddenly in love with each other. Her college essay was a huge part of the beginning and then disappeared. And to call this anything meets Friday Night Lights is a disservice to Friday Night Lights. I wouldn't recommend this book but it was somewhat decent. Foster's journey earned the stars.
The story was great, it was funny and moving at the same time. The author performance as the narrator was perfect! Can't wait to tell all my friends about it!
