Publisher's summary

New Girl.

New School.

Old Evil.

From the author of the Chicagoland Vampires novels, a new series about a boarding school filled with something worse than homework. Lily's parents have sent her to a fancy boarding school in Chicago filled with the ultra-rich. If that wasn't bad enough, she's hearing and seeing bizarre things on St. Sophie's creepy campus. Her roommate, Scout, keeps her sane, but keeps disappearing at night. When one day Lily finds Scout running from real-life monsters, she learns the hard way that Scout is involved in a splinter group of rebel teens. They protect Chicago from demons, vamps, and dark magic users. It's too bad Lily doesn't have powers of her own to help. At least, none that she's discovered yet....

The Narrator OMG

I am a fan of the Chicagoland Vampires series so this seemed exciting. The story is okay, but promises more for the series. But the narrator was completely inappropriate for this book. She sounded way too old and prim, while the protagonist is 16 and flirty/bohemian. Moreover she had a choppy way of reading sentences with awkward pauses. I can't see this series taking off if this narrator remains.

terrible narration

The part of the story I could listen to was good. I would probably listen to series with different narrator.
Good narrators......
Liv Anderson
Sophie Eastlake
Khristine Hvam
Saskia Maarleveld
Chris Dukehart
Kevin T. Collins
To name a few that would have made the book better

Awful narrator!

She sounds much much to old for playing a teenage girl meaning I couldn't finish the book.

Will not recommend

narrator is dull

the story was great but the narrator was monotone and made each word to sharp on the end note. These books I think would be better read than audiotaped. At least then you can make the characters come to life as the author meant for them to be.

Horrible Narator

I love Chloe Niell so i stuck with it but the narrator made it very difficult. She sounded like a GPS narrator giving directions without proper sentence breaks, etc. plus she only had one voice so it was hard to know who was talking. can't decide whether to get the rest of the books in the series.

Terrible Narration

The story was good but the narration was so bad I almost stopped listening. Too old, choppy, and unnatural flow. Please consider reworking with a different narrator.

Dry

I love Cloe Neil but this book lacked the excitement and intrigue. It took a lot for me to focus and get through it.

Ms Neill does it again

Though relatively tame (it IS targeted toward teens), still a fun little read. And the narrator makes it fun. I've read several other books that were voiced by her (I had a hard time getting used to her choppy sentences at first but her character portrayals are fabulous). It's written in the same manner Ms Neill's CL Vampire series is - with the same sense of snarky humor, which I very much enjoy.

Did not enjoy narrator

The narrator didnt sound rt to me. These are supposed to be young teenagers and the voice doesn't fit plus when she is reading she doesn't say the phrases correctly the way it was written. I think the other narrator for chicagoland vampires was much better!! It made me want to listen without being critical. Thx love the books
