Publisher's summary

Ann Aguirre's thrilling young adult novel Enclave is the story of two young people in an apocalyptic world - facing dangers, and feelings, unlike any they've ever known. New York City has been decimated by war and plague, and most of civilization has migrated to underground enclaves, where life expectancy is no more than the early 20's. When Deuce turns 15, she takes on her role as a Huntress, and is paired with Fade, a teenage Hunter who lived Topside as a young boy.

When she and Fade discover that the neighboring enclave has been decimated by the tunnel monsters - or Freaks - who seem to be growing more organized, the elders refuse to listen to warnings. And when Deuce and Fade are exiled from the enclave, the girl born in darkness must survive in daylight - guided by Fade's long-ago memories - in the ruins of a city whose population has dwindled to a few dangerous gangs.

Narrator ruined the book

I liked the story, but the narrator sounded like a 12 year old child talking about Disney world, as opposed to the more adult situations.

Moderate start, great build up.

I was very hesitant when I first began this book. I didn't like the beginning and the voice actresses voice is a little different. Towards the middle it started to pick up and I started to enjoy this little read!

It's a well written story and read well too. Action, mystery, sorrow, lust, and

narrator is way to happy!

The story is good but the narrators voice doesnt match the words and tone of the story, its alittle off putting. I would recommend reading the book rather than listening to it. Im excited to get the next and see where the story goes!

A violent book for young people

Would you try another book from Ann Aguirre and/or Emily Bauer?

The writing style assumes the reader/listener is an idiot. I felt like I was being preached to all the time.

Would you recommend Enclave to your friends? Why or why not?

No.

Would you be willing to try another one of Emily Bauer’s performances?

No - she sounds like she's smiling all the way through this book, even during dark battles and sad points. Terrible overall narrator, but she does some interesting voices.

Could you see Enclave being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

It'd be a Disney film released straight to video with b-rate voice talent and terrible animation.

One of my favorite books!

This trilogy is so good that every few months I listen to it over and over again! I especially like falling asleep to it because there's no sex, profanity, or magic!

Interesting spin off a zombie apocypse

Would you consider the audio edition of Enclave to be better than the print version?

I have yet to read the print version

What was one of the most memorable moments of Enclave?

The first time you meet Fade

Did Emily Bauer do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Putting the story in the point of view of someone who'd had no knowledge of what the world has was an interesting choice makes the other characters more alien but you grow to know them in a better way

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The strong survive

Great book

It's a must read. Similar to Hunger Games and Divergent in its action and love triangle.

Very enjoyable and different

An enjoyable, different kind of apocalyptic story. I recommend it to all people even those not really into this genres.
