    "Emotional, Stressful and Wonderful"

I've noticed trends in a lot of the YA scifi books that I've read, particularly those with a strong female lead, and this series follows all of them. It has the usual love stories, and the usual rise from the lower class, and a strong female protagonist - which to be clear, I always enjoy, AND, this book still managed to give you a plot line to love, even though you've kind of heard it all before. This particular book shows how much Aelin Galathynius has grown and how strong she truly is.

This book was extremely sexual, more so than any of the books prior, and I would not recommend it for the 11-13 age group. There were many sex scenes and sexual conversation and situations, so I think parents should use their own judgement.

I'm thrilled with this book, I wish I waited until the next book in the series was also released, because this is a doozy.

    "Parts were Unnecessary"

I appreciate how the author finally brought all the characters together and explained mysteries from her series. However I do not understand why she chose to be so sexually explicit with all of her characters. It didn't even seem to fit in certain places. She went from one overly lusty scene to the next, almost as if she got stuck and couldn't think of how to progress she story so she had all of her characters be fully and uncontrollably horny. It didn't make sense in context and seemed cheap and trashy. Besides her brief attempt at being an erotica writer, I liked this book.

    "NOT for 11-14 year olds."
If this book were a movie would you go see it?

If this book were a movie I would not go see it with the age group that it is recommended for. There are multiple detailed sex scenes that distracted from the overall adventure of the story. I would advise that this age group have a responsible adult give them "the talk" before these kids venture into this book.

    Any additional comments?

Other than that though... Sarah J. Mass pulled in another great adventure to add to the series. She is growing in her ability to pull everything together and make her characters into well rounded, fully developed people that also grow along side the developing story.

    "Not my flavor."

Most of this series is brilliant, the vibrant world, interesting characters, and struggle for hope are parts that have kept me enjoying this series. This book however added some things that I really didn't like, and think detracted from the overall story. I believe there are times and places where sex scenes can be appropriate but many of the scenes depicted in the book felt like cheap smut, placed there as fan service to keep people interested in the books. it could have been more enjoyable if left to the imagination and not depicted in such a graphic and vivid way. The only other main issue I had was a 30 minute torture scene. It was placed to cause tension and build anticipation, but lasted far too long. The way it was handled caused me to loose all interest in the book or the outcome of the series.

The series as a whole is a good one, and one that have enjoyed. I would, however, not recommend this particular book to others. It just isn't my flavor.

Another great read, fast paced, I think they only sleep for about 2 hours in this one. Good tension, more questions answered, and leaves us on a cliffhanger !!

    "Worst installment in this series"

I've mostly enjoyed this series so far. But this is the first time I've found myself pressing the fast forward button. The author just spends way too much time describing sex. I mean, this is not a romance novel, right? But it seems like she wanted to make it one. Some good story development does happen in the book--actually a lot does get explained--but the story, in my opinion, could have been a lot better if someone had cut the sex scenes down to one-tenth their lengths. At this point, I would not bother reading the next book if it is like this one. This one was just too disappointing, as I felt I just could not enjoy it.

"Does not belong in the young adult section"

Unfortunately I had to give this story one star. The romance between several of the couples is too intense and graphic and erotic. She is alienating her core group of fans!

We have loved this series and this author. She has fantastic characters and plot. However, this will be the last book of the series that we will read.

"Not suitable for teens & maybe some adults"
What would have made Empire of Storms better?

If the romantic scenes left something to the imagination! WAY too graphic!!!!! I read children's & YA books for a reason, because I don't want to hear about all the graphic sex scenes. Also, there was way too much cursing for my taste. To me, it just takes away from the story.

If you’ve listened to books by Sarah J. Maas before, how does this one compare?

I like the story. It's fun & exciting, just like the previous ones. But I just don't like how, with each book, the more graphic the romantic scenes get.

How could the performance have been better?

I'm not a fan of the voice actress. The characters all sound the same. I like there to be distinct differences for each character, so you know who's talking without having to go back to figure it out.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

A little disappointed, because I thought this was the last book in the series?

    "Another brilliant installment"

First of all I love this series. Great characterisation and fabulous voice acting courtesy of Elizabeth. She makes this series come alive.

But screw you Sarah for the twists and turns that made me cry... AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE GODS DAMN CLIFFHANGER.

I love Ansel she seems like a fantastic character and I'll be interested to see how the next installment pans out because of the feel bombs you have nearly DESTROYED me with.

Bring on the next book. I'm greedy for more as I've devoured the last three books in a week.

    "Very enjoyable but occasionally annoying"

I have really enjoyed the series so far and the story lines have developed and come together beautifully. However, the regular repetition of words, such as "up, up, up" and "down, down, down" etc are very, very, very annoying, occurring so often that it results in expletives being shouted at my phone! It is very childish, gives a amateurish feel to the writing and really is unnecessary. Other than that, brilliant.

    "Is this the end???"

A long, tantalising, saga appears to come to an end, but every fan will want to know, "Is this the end"?

The author has left the door open. I hope she walks through it once more.

Complex plot that connects superbly throughout all the books in the series. Then comes to an unexpected but well planned climax.
