Publisher's summary

Something drastic has happened in Morganville while Claire and her friends were away. The town looks cleaner and happier than they've ever seen it before, but when their incoming group is arrested and separated - vampires from humans - they realize that the changes definitely aren't for the better. It seems that an organization called the Daylight Foundation has offered the population of Morganville something they've never had: Hope of a vampire-free future. And while it sounds like salvation - even for the vampires themselves - the truth is far more sinister and deadly. Now, Claire, Shane, and Eve need to find a way to break their friends out of Daylighter custody, before the vampires of Morganville meet their untimely end.

Bring Back Cynthia Holloway!

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Cynthia Holloway read this series so much better. Love the books but not the current narrator!

I'm trying... Really!!!

***NOTE THAT I HAVE NOT READ ENTIRE BOOK YET***

My star rating for the book is not fair because I have not gotten past chapter 3 and that is because of Angela Dawe! So my star rating for narration is spot on.
I was so excited for this audiobook, the last Morganville book, resolution to all the characters yay!!! But why oh why did Angela Dawe NOT read or listen to the advice/criticisms of all the wonderful reviewers of "Fall of Night" (and all the other Morganville books she narrated)? For "Fall of Night" I gave A. Dawe a 3/5 star rating on narration because she actually sounded like she had listened to ALL the complaints of the listeners and upped her game. On this book, I don't know if she is just saying screw it, it's the last book who cares or what but I cannot get past chapter 3. I am sadly going to have to return this book and buy the e book to enjoy the ending of our Morganville residents.
My complaint is mainly towards the narrator and not Rachel Caine who is an amazing writer and storyteller. I have read all of her series and they are wonderful. I always feel bad leaving a negative review for a book due to the narrator because I don't think it's fair to the author but on the other hand, the author should respect the listeners and look at the feedback and take action. Everyone who reads this, please go read all of the narrator reviews for A. Dawe for this series and you will see what I am talking about. I just wish Cynthia Holloway could have lasted this entire series or they would have heeded the advice of the listeners and changed from A. Dawe.
Happy Listening!

**I will happily edit my review once I READ the book** I have no doubt the book is amazing!

Needs a new Narrater!!!!

What did you like best about Daylighters? What did you like least?

The store it self was just as good at all the other ones, and I loved it but I ended up having to buy the book because listening to Angela Dawe was driving me crazy. It was like nails on a chalkboard.

I enjoy the series, but...

Would you try another book from Rachel Caine and/or Angela Dawe?

Yes (Rachel Caine). No (Angela Dawe)

What didn’t you like about Angela Dawe’s performance?

Her pacing and intonation seemed contrived and awkward. When she was doing dialog, she's super. But when she just narrated, her tone kept lowering at the end of almost every phrase and it just stood out more than the story did.

Any additional comments?

It's a fun series, but this is the first one I didn't enjoy listening to. I'll buy the ebook instead to find out how it ends. Sorry.

GREAT SERIES RUINED BY HORRIBLE NARRATOR! SHAMEFUL

SHAME ON YOU, AUDIBLE! OK Audible, why did you take a wonderful narrator and replace her with "Miss Snoozefest"? Thank you so very much for ripping the loyal fans of this series for 5 books @ 7.95/ each if paid by credit card or $15.95/ each if purchased by monthly tokens (1 per month from membership fees), AND there are hundreds of complaints by other reviewers indicating the same complaints about Angela Dawe [yawn] (give her something to read that fits her style - like stock reports, local dog-show ratings, dairy fair results etc.); and her hideous narration abilities. But I highly doubt you even read the reviews, because nobody has even taken the time to listen to the narration tapes prior to slapping it up on the website and yelling "TA-DA!" during the ongoing economic pandemic our country is enduring and you just ripped me off for about $75.00! SHAME on you, you have proven without a doubt you only care about the Almighty $$ and DO NOT care about your loyal customers. SHAME ON YOU - you've shown your true lack of loyalty to the very people who help your weekly pay..........

Sad to see it end

As a huge fan of this series, I'm super sad to see it end - but it was defintely time - and Rachel did it perfectly. She closed it out in a way that each character had an end without it feeling like The End. (If that makes sense) She didn't have to go through the list of characters and give all the details of their future, you are just content with how it ends and aren't curious as to how so and so turns out.
As a whole, the story was good - plenty of action, drama, and sarcasm as always.
There were some parts that didn't quite keep my interest and I'd find myself spacing out and thinking of other things while still holding the book. The whole point of reading is to escape from the world and our problems for a little while. Despite the few mind wandering moments I did enjoy the book; it seems the story has come full circle.
In the beginning, the humans are terrified of the vampires and subsequently are their prisoners; by book #15, Daylighters, the vampires are now terrified of the humans and are imprisoned with shock collars. At least in the beginning. It seems everyone's roles have reversed at some point or another throughout the series, but in the end they are all trying to live peacefully... or as peacefully as humans and vampires can.
I mean, they are predator and prey after all.

Great ending to an amazing series

This one is full of pull your hair adventure. The love and family of the Glass house is so amazing. The take on acceptance should make you think.

Narrator sucks!!

I’m with EVERYONE else!! Why would you take a great series and change the narrator?? Totally change the feeling of the series. I would rather just read it because her voice just makes you want to go to sleep. Are you even reading your customers responses probably not. Rest in peace Rachel.
