Publisher's summary

The series takes place in a world similar to our own but one where vampires, witches, werewolves and shape-shifters live among humans without their knowledge. These supernatural races make up a secret society known as the Night World, which enforces two fundamental laws to prevent discovery: 1) Never allow humans to gain knowledge of the Night World's existence and, 2) Never fall in love with one of them.

Mary-Lynnette, 17, loves to watch the stars from her Oregon backyard. Then one day, she thinks she's witnessed a murder through her telescope. She's wrong: it's only three vampire sisters burying their mysteriously-killed aunt. The sisters, Rowan, Kestral, and Jade ran away from their enclave home to live the lives of regular teenagers. However, when their brother Ash is sent to bring the girls back, he falls in love with Mary-Lynnette. But will she accept him because of his lurid vampire past and can a now-repentant Ash convince Mary-Lynnette to let him atone for his former sins and be his soulmate?

Vampires, vampires and more VAMPIRES!!!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I throughly enjoyed listening to this book, it was time well spent.

What did you like best about this story?

As book 2 of the Night World series I love how different it was from Secret Vampire. Although James and Poppy are somewhat mentioned in this book, the story is about a completely different cast of characters. Smith also humanizes the villain from Secret Vampire, Ash, and you start to get a different and more oppressive view about the Night World.

What about Emily Durante’s performance did you like?

Emily Durante did a magnificent job narrating this book. There were a lot of characters and a lot of different personalities to portray.

Did Daughters of Darkness inspire you to do anything?

No. It's just a good young adult novel.

Great book!

I some what hated the main girl character but loved the story. I also had a pretty hard time getting through the story because of the main girl character.

LJ PLEASE FINISH THIS SERIES

love these books so much I just wish so bad LJ would finish them after over 20 years of waiting. Especially considering all she got from vampire diaries.

Love this book

I love these books; they satiate my paranormal addiction with real believable characters. They have enough mystery, and excitement that I cannot put them down. There is enough romance to make them fun without being uncomfortable. I would have no problem letting my teen read these sweet stories. I have been able to find a message in most of them of becoming a better person in some way with a good ending. I like this story even better than the 1st one.

Great story, robotic performance

I always have loved these stories and I’m hoping against hope that Smith will finally release the final book. I don’t understand why directors and acting agents cast people who can’t pronounce words or who sound like robots. Some redoes would be great.

Great story

Wished there was an epilogue though! I really felt like I needed to know what became of the relationship of Ash and Mary Lynnette! I did find out there may be more in another book in the series.
