Three New York Times best-selling authors deliver post-apocalyptic stories of love and loss, revenge and hope--each heroine motivated by the love for a sister and the desperate need to fight against all odds.
In Kami Garcia's "Burn 3", Phoenix lives in a post-apocalyptic world where the sun kills. When children in the poorest sector start disappearing--including Phoenix's younger sister--she must venture into a dark and forgotten part of the city, where she discovers there are things even more deadly than the sun.
In Melissa Marr's "Corpse Eaters", Harmony and Chris live in a world where religion spiraled out of control. The sick or disobedient are gathered to feed the corpse-eating god. After her sister died for her part in the resistance, Harmony steps into the vacant role as Chris' partner. In a world full of death and corruption, all Harm wants is to kill the enemy and avoid becoming attached to anyone. All Chris wants is a reason to keep fighting.
In Carrie Ryan's "Miasma", Frankie lives in a world in which disease is spread not through germs but rather through "bad air" - miasma. When a deadly plague breaks out in her town, Frankie will do anything keep her sick sister from being taken by the beaked doctors who use monstrous beasts to weed out the ill. Because once you are marked by the plague eaters, there is little hope of survival.

I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
I loved the narration and all 3 stories were good....All of them had a lot of heart and very likable strong female characters....I love short stories....and this book did not disappoint!
I dont want to compare this book...but if you like dystopic stories...you will like this!
She is good...she has a little accent thats sooo likable!!! I would gladly listen to her again!
Ok once again I dont like this question...lets move on....and can we come up with something new please?
Ok I want to lay it out a bit for you guys....first story...Burn 3...Its about a girl and her sister in a post apocalyptic world...its touching, and shows the bonds of love and struggle in a harsh world....liked it a lot...give it a thumbs up...I like Kami Garcia in general and this was a nice change of pace for her...5 stars!
Second story...Corpse eaters....This is a story of avenging your family...a young girl and her partner a little older guy...go out to kill these flesh eating beasts..and avenge her sisters death, but theres a little twist in there that will make you say wow!! I liked it...and give it 4.5 stars!
Now story three was my fave...Miasma...A 16 year old girl cares for her sister after her mom was taken away because she has the plague....the swamps are making the poor sector sick...and there are Bone Drs and beasts that come every night to detect the sick and drag them away....There is a bit of a love story...and a family bond that makes this story wonderful...and makes you want more of these characters...this one gets 2 huge thumbs up and a highly recommend!! 5 stars!! I now want to read more From Carrie Ryan!
I would definitely read more books by Kami Garcia and Melissa Marr. Though Kami Garcia's short story was my favorite. It really felt like there was just sooooooooooo much more to it.
Yes, it's nice to get a taste of a writers work. Especially if you read a LOT and you don't know what to read next :)
Well, for starters it would have been better if the narrator had chosen an accent and stuck with it. I think she was actually European trying an English accent. Her true accent came through more often then it probably should. There's certainly nothing wrong with accents, in fact, I LOVE European accents but it was strange to hear it coming and going.
I think Burn 3 should be a trilogy!
