Publisher's summary

Jacky Faber, Bloody Jack, is back, and this time, she's facing a situation far worse than a ship full of murderous pirates. Curse of the Blue Tattoo, L. A. Meyer's sequel to the enormous popular Bloody Jack, is just as bawdy and entertaining as the original.

Narrator did her homework

Story told and songs sung with correct accents and tunes and with pleasantly expressive voice.

Captivating

Just finished listening to the 2nd book in this series. I love these books. The main character, Jacky, reminds me of a pirate version of Anne of Green Gables.
The reader does a truly amazing job. All the voices and feeling. Despite not having the sounds other than voice, she still gives you the feel of radio theater. Awesome.

Best Audio book out there

What did you love best about Curse of the Blue Tattoo?

I love this series and would read them over and over. However, Katherine Kellgren is the best audio reader I have found and I now listen to these books more than I read them because she brings the story to life in such an incredible way. I have never heard a more entertaining audio book.

What other book might you compare Curse of the Blue Tattoo to and why?

The only other series I could compare this to, is the brotherband series, but I haven't heard them on audio yet.

Which character – as performed by Katherine Kellgren – was your favorite?

Jackie is my favorite. Listening to her try and be a lady and all her adventures is enjoyable

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Love me some Jackie

I really enjoy this character. She makes the most out of what's given to her, she's unreasonable, out of control, and the luckiest person around. I love even more that I just discovered her and there are many more adventures left to read!

I Love this Series

Content warning: SA.
I read this in middle school and this series got me through my fair share of history tests and it’s just as good as I remember it being! A forever favorite!

Read These Great Books In Order For Best Enjoyment

Many long series can be read in bits and pieces-you can pick up any of the 'Eve Dallas' or Jack Reacher" or Stephanie Plum books in any order you choose to grab them. Then there are the series like "Outlander" and this Jacky Faber series that NEED to be read from book 1 on down the line. Oh-I guess you can really read any book you want but there is so much back story and each book builds on the previous one that, as other reviewers, who started in the middle of the series, post about not understanding what was going on, getting lost in the vast number of Jackys friends and her chaotic adventures.

I enjoyed this as much as I did the first one and am glad that, as my daughters request, I purchased the first 5 in the series at one time. I figured it would take me a couple of months to get thru these-they looked pretty long but I've averaging book a week of intermittent listening. I just can't put the headphones down.

I still think that this episode can be listened to by the entire family especially if younger ones got some explaining during it. I wish I'd have had this series when I used to take road trips with my kids.

Kellgren brings so much wonderful excitement into the plot by her great performances of all the many characters. It's easy to know who is 'talking' as Kellgren keeps her dialog accents straight - theres no guessing on my part about which character is which.

I hope the series remains just as good as these first two. Some of the best I've heard on Audible.

Well worth your monthly credit-and even worth purchasing more credits so you cn buy it at the membership discount!

Best Series Ever!

If you could sum up Curse of the Blue Tattoo in three words, what would they be?

Best heroine ever!

Any additional comments?

Every young girl should read the Jackie Faber series. She is the perfect heroine for girls to grow up strong, brave, clever, fearless and beautiful. I wish I had these when I was a girl.

Completely surprised by how fun this book was!

It reminds me of the classic Alexander Dumas stories of the three musketeers etc. but those stories never feature a female lead, and it is refreshing and super delightful to listen to!
