Publisher's summary

Jacky Faber, Bloody Jack, is back, and this time, she's facing a situation far worse than a ship full of murderous pirates. Curse of the Blue Tattoo, L. A. Meyer's sequel to the enormous popular Bloody Jack, is just as bawdy and entertaining as the original.

Outstanding writing, and amazing execution

Well done! The storyline was riveting and the narrator is phenomenal. Very impressive singing voice too, but it’s all so fluid, and her exceptional talent makes the story so vividly come alive.
How do I describe these books to my friends?
In my estimation, this is Anne of Green Gables meets Pirates of the Caribbean with a touch of a Little Princess thrown in there. Well done all!

Narrator makes the story!

If you could sum up Curse of the Blue Tattoo in three words, what would they be?

Boarding school for pirates!

Any additional comments?

The narrator makes the story come alive. While the text make drag at times the narrator's ability to infuse the story with each personality, the anxiety of being a young teen, and the thrill of Jackie's exploits makes this a fantastic listen. I highly recommend the series especially with this narrator.

Excellent narration

Love this series so far. Katherine Kellgren is one of the best narrator’s I’ve heard.

Jackie Moves to Boston

In this second installment, Jackie moves from ship to girls boarding school, but still manages to get into all kinds of sailor's scrapes. The book is fun to listen to with Katherine Kellgren at the performance helm. I can't even begin to explain how amazing her performance of this book is!

I imagine that this is a book for young adults, but the content, at times, seems a bit beyond that at times; I'd feel just a bit squeamish, as I would have in the previous book, about some of the parts of this book, but they are handled sensitively by the author and peformer.

Overall, it's a fun romp, and the more Jackie Fabre the better in my opinion.

Exciting to listen to!

I am smitten with Katherine Kellgren's ability to be so many characters effectively. She switches seamlessly between the characters and has an immense range where the voices are concerned. The story, itself is superb and original in it's arrangement. This audio book was worth every cent and I plan to continue the series.

Exciting, fast-paced optimistic fun

I couldn't stop listening to the first book, so I just bought the next 2 for a road trip. I think my 8 year old grand daughter might be ready, maybe 10 would be better, but so far it's exciting and Captain Jackorino is a powerful role model for girls! What age do other's think?

I love bloody Jacky Faber!

This is my second favorite book of all time. The narration is perfect and exactly what Jacky sounded like in my head the very first time I read this book.

More Adventure!

There is never a dull moment when Jacky Faber is around. Just when you think things can't get worse, they do. There are many exciting twists and turns, but in the end Jacky continues to her next adventure.

Great read

I would not recommend this book if you had not read Bloody Jack the first book in the series for that book gets you to fall in love with Jackie and although this book was good the action and parts were pretty slow its more like her daily life as she tried to conform into being a lady. I had to know what happened and the love for the character is what made the book so good overall she gets into a lot of trouble and she gets out of it and it's great to watch her do it I loved it and the performance was amazing. As with the first one the history of the period is accurateish which makes it a time period novel which i really like.
