Audible Editor Reviews

In this imaginative retelling of a classic English fairy tale, a beautiful young woman named Tattercoats is abandoned by her father and kept almost as a prisoner by her harsh grandfather. Her only friends are the servant girl Malkin and a gooseherd named Pug, who help her find a way to escape her predicament by attending a lavish ball. Written in vivid prose and interwoven with historical figures such as Queen Elizabeth and Shakespeare, this is a charming listen that’s sure to delight lovers of classic fairy tales. Performer Esther Van Doornum's gentle voice brings the story to life, although her Australian accent can be distracting at times.
