Narrator much better

The Narrator was much better in this book than the previous book (ed westwick). Good book.

Narration

The narration left something to be desired. No differentiation between character voices at all which made it a bit confusing and just lack luster.

Clary+Jace+Sebastian = An Amazing Plot!

I don’t know about you, but putting the three of them together seems to work extremely well. To be honest, there are some relationships in this book I just don’t really care about, especially Maia and Jordan. They are simply boring and can’t seem to fit into this book at all. But all of this is fine as long as the story of Clary and Jace is still good. And it was. They have one of the most torturing, yet fascinating relationships I’ve ever read. As for Sebastian……I don’t even know where to start. He is possibly the best villain ever created. Charming, intelligent, manipulating, handsome, cunning…….a true mastermind. Overall, I am still a huge fan of The Mortal Instruments and cannot wait for the last installment, City of Heavenly Fire!

Molly C. Quinn is a total disaster! Why doesn’t Simon & Schuster ever listen to us? She had already ruined City of Fallen angels for me and now this? All the characters sounded the same to me and everything that came out of her mouth was unbearable! Please change the narrator for the next book!

I can't wait for the final book

Would you consider the audio edition of City of Lost Souls to be better than the print version?

I think most audio versions are better. I have always enjoyed it when people read to me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of City of Lost Souls?

Clary and Jace spending the day together. I don't want to give to much away.

Which scene was your favorite?

I have so many. I can't choose just one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I think I could have.

Love this Series!

Would you listen to City of Lost Souls again? Why?

Yes, so much ground is covered in this book. My mind still feels like I missed something.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I think the narrator for this book isn't as good as the person that did the first novel. She struggles with voice differentiation on the main characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending just made me flatly frustrated.....each novel the author lets you think the main characters get to be together....ah, but yet again NO! and the last book doesn't even come out until Sept. 2014! Disappointing.

Any additional comments?

Out of all of the books in the series. I would say this one by far has more almost erotica in it. I would caution parents of younger teens on this one. Read it first before you let your teen venture into this book.

eh. the story is a bit too wishy washy for me

there is to much attempt to create sexual tension while trying to preserve the purity of abstinence. one or two scenes of that would have sufficed. no need to drag it out in every other chapter.

Good story if you can get past the Narration

How could the performance have been better?

The voice acting in this book is a huge let down, Molly was not this bad in the previous book. When she changes her voice to indicate a demon talking it is extremely grating, so much so that it makes me want to fast forward through it. It really brought down the quality of book for me. Just read the book, listening to a creaking voice isn't pleasant.

Almost as well as the first book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, if you've already read the first novel, DON'T STOP THERE. Keep going. It's worth it in the end, I promise.

What other book might you compare City of Lost Souls to and why?

Very similar to the first book as far as content, duels, plot twists, emotional roller coaster and the feeling of wanting to strangle some of the characters out of annoyance (all in a good way). A great installment to the series!

What about Molly C. Quinn’s performance did you like?

She has finally gained confidence in her voice and it shows as the book continues on.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Didn't want to stop at some points, and wanted to quit at other points, but in the end was a GREAT book. Glad I stuck with it.
