They just get better.

I enjoy the book because Jonathan, my favorite “bad guy”, is a major character. I also enjoy Jace’s altered personality.

plot wasn't my favorite

I love the book, and the series, but the plot had too much raciness.

Great book, terrible narration

Would you listen to City of Lost Souls again? Why?

No, I would not listen to it again. I purposely purchased the hardback so that I could appreciate the story. Molly should stick to acting badly instead of reading badly.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Molly Quinn made all of the characters seem flat and lifeless. The only true change she ever made in her voice was if she was speaking for someone with a foreign accent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Molly Quinn completely ruined this book and the last. I had no way to connect with this book emotionally because her narration is so poor.

Poor Narration

I don't know who chose the male narrator for this, but he was truly awful. The story is great and being the resolution of a long time series was greatly anticipated. To do this to the performance was a crime. I loved the story, hated how it was told.

I don't want this series to end!

Would you consider the audio edition of City of Lost Souls to be better than the print version?

No, I think they're equal, but I always listen to the audiobook after I read the print version and I love picking up things I missed in my first read through.

What was one of the most memorable moments of City of Lost Souls?

I love when Clary calls Sebastian out on his crap! The final scenes with her and him are pretty entertaining!

Which character – as performed by Molly C. Quinn – was your favorite?

Simon for sure, although I love how defiant Clary is and Magnus and Simon's interactions in this book are entertaining too!

Crazy 16 year olds

The fact that the author is making it sound like true love can exist at 16 annoys me it really annoys me that she has the characters having sex. I would not like my daughter thinking she found the love of her life at 16. Killing demons yes but having sex please oh god no.

Bad Ass

Simple. Bad Ass book. I did enjoy the tag team reading in the last book but Molly did a great job by herself.

Great!

She did much much better this time! I'm used to her voice now and listening to the next one will probably throw me off. But anyway. I'm much happier with this one than the last.

Surprisingly a good listen

I read the reviews about how horrible the narrator was, it truly was soothing. She put me to sleep. That may sound as not quite a compliment but it really is a good thing. The narration of any book should either soothe or excite you. This particular book did both and it really isn't my favorite book of the series. So I'm much more satisfied with this book as opposed to the previous one. Book 4s narrator made want to hurl my phone/tablet across the room. The male narrator was too distracting. So this one gets my thumbs up.
