STOP CHANGING NARRATORS

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I am so tired of listening to these books read by different narrators every time!

Disappointing Narration for a beloved series.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Bring back Molly Quinn or Natalie Moore, and Ed Westwick. They nailed it, brought the books to life. I'm sure these narrators would be fabulous in their own series- changing narrators wasn't the best idea.

What didn’t you like about Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ’s performance?

Their accents are off. Sophie is passable but ...Clary is a New Yorker! Where is Jace's sarcasm- the tone is off- sounds lifeless.. I LOVE this series- but new narrators do not do the storyline justice- they even botch the pronunciation of common terms throughout the series. The book is well written. I was looking forward to this for so long :(

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The book itself is great!

Any additional comments?

Can we re-do the narration with our old narrators?

Jason Dohring is awful to listen to...

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No, Sophie Turner does a good job and is easy to listen to but as soon as Jason Dohring starts reading I lose all interest. His voice is flat and monotone. It's absolutely the worst narration I have heard.

How could the performance have been better?

Replace Jason Dohring and the book would of been fine.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Loved it

Any additional comments?

I wish they would stop changing the narrator's for every book.

Horrible, horrible narrators!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Story was fine. Narrators ruined it.

What didn’t you like about Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ’s performance?

First of all, I never leave reviews but was compelled to do this to spare others from this horrible experience. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse than Molly Quinn's nasal yet pitchy voice, they hired these two. In fairness to Sophie Turner, she may have a vey thick British accent but she did try to use an American"voice" for the New Yorker characters and made some half-hearted effort to inject some emotion into her reading (though Jace's humor and sarcasm were lost on her). Jason Dohring on the other hand, may be the worst narrator yet! He sounded like he was reading Dr. Seuss to a bunch of 5 year-olds! Really, it was insulting having to listen to him. I wish I didn't waste a credit on this and just read the book myself!

Terrible narrators

Would you listen to City of Heavenly Fire again? Why?

I love these books but the narrators have been and are still HORRIBLE!! There are wonderful narrators available. Why can't this publisher hire them?? It sounds like amateurs reading a book out loud.

I will not listen to any books listing these narrators. Better to read the books!

What did you like best about this story?

Interesting concept and story.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ?

ANYONE BUT THE NARRATORS USED FOR THIS SERIES OF THESE BOOKS

Terrible Narration

Not sure who thought these two narrators would add to this audio book but they were wrong. I think I will need to switch to the Kindle version.

Great end to the series but appalling narration!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The book is great, a great end to the series.

What didn’t you like about Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ’s performance?

I have loved all of Cassandra Clare's books and have both read them and listened to them. Most of the narratiors have been good and sometimes even great. However, these two narrators are the worst I have heard in a long time especially Jason Dohring.

Any additional comments?

Please please please re-record this book maybe with Kate Rudd as one or the narrators.

WORST NARRATORS EVER!!!!

What did you love best about City of Heavenly Fire?

The story was great! Action-packed from beginning to end! The perfect climax to a captivating series.

How could the performance have been better?

Different narrators altogether. Sophie Turner was passable, even though she botched the american accent on numerous occasions, but Jason Dohring was aweful! Monotonous, choppy, his phrase intonations were all wrong and he lacks flow and feeling. I found it very difficult to stay focused on the story every time he started reading! What a shame!

Any additional comments?

Please re-produce with better narrators!

Never hire those narrators again!!!!!!!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I wouldn't wish those voices on anyone. The book was great as always but the voices ruined it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ’s performances?

Never again.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The book was great. I have no problems with the writing just the voices that made me feel like I was listening to nails on a chalkboard.

Any additional comments?

Hello….Not everyone in the book has a british accent. Duh.

Narrators ruined a mediocre book.

What disappointed you about City of Heavenly Fire?

A drab story line that seemed like repetition and fluff in order to rush the book out to make a few more bucks. Could have skipped more than halfway through the book, and still had the same feeling at the end.

What could Cassandra Clare have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Taken her time and put more thought into the plot. Stopped at book 5.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator was awful. I have listened to all of the previous books this was by far the worst. Boring, mundane, (lol) emotionless. I would fire the male narrator. Also the English accent of the female narrator...what was up with that. I get it for the Infernal devices, but this it definitely took away from this reading.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment in the author and the audio book,

Any additional comments?

It this tells you anything I quit listening to the audio book after I paid for it, and read the eBook on my wife's kindle. I love audio books, and this is the first time I have ever stopped listening because of the narrator.
