Say something about yourself!
I couldn't finish the listening book. The narration was just too wrong. I really tried to give it a chance, but I just cringed the entire time. I will have to read the book and see if it is any good.
The first several were very well done, and then they started changing up that narrators. BIG Mistake!
They need to have the original narrators back!
I only listened to this book to finish the series. It seemed a little drawn out. It needs new narrators. I had a hard time finishing it because of it.
Jason had no inflection in his voice. He did get better at the end. The difference of his american accent and Sophie's British accent was distracting.
Only to finish the series
I'm a pilot who loves to fly! I've found Audible very useful while I work out and do other activities where I can not hold a book but can listen.
No I would not due to the poor voice acting.
Get new voice actors! a good story ruined by the voice acting!
Sophie Turner's performance was excellent. I particularly liked her rendition of Emma. I really like Jason Dohring, but I had a hard time listening to his performance. His voice is too monotone for this type of acting.
I was definitely on the brink of tears at the end because of what happened to Simon. I could relate to the situation because I lost a friend like Simon.
Great conclusion to the series and I look forward to listening to the new series in 2015
Couldn't even listen to the book. The characters have different accents and their AWFUL.
They maybe fine in a different story, but why on the 6th book would, you give the main characters an English accents, when they have NEVER had one before. I have listen to every one of these books via audio and watched the movie,
When something works don't fix it!
I loved this series but I was so very dissapointed in the male narrator they chose. He was so flat and emotionless! It severely took away from what should have been a spectacular end of a phenomenal series. I wanted to finish this series yet his lack of inspiration and emotions at times made me want to read it myself versus listen to an audio book. The narrators should make a book come alive yet he was so very flat . Made me so very sad as I was already so invested.
Jason Dohring needs to not narrate audio books. I hate to be blunt, but we buy audio books to be drawn into to the characters and the story, not be turned off by them.
Mostly the narration. I felt the end of the story could have been better as well. Considering the last 5 books have been building up to this, it was rather disappointing. There was also quite a lot of fluff added in for reasons I cannot explain. Characters that seem completely pointless. I don't know if Cassandra Clare brought these characters in with the intention of having them in more books or what, but several characters just seemed pointless and unnecessary. Mostly, however, the narration just ruined the whole book.
No. I would possible recommend the actual book, but certainly not the audiobook. It took me far longer to finish this book than it should have, because I had to keep backing it up. The narration was dull and my mind would wander.
It is very difficult to adjust to a new narrator, and through the course of this series, they have changed narrators twice. Sophie Turner is a bit difficult for me to listen to, primarily because of her accent (British, I assume). There were several times that I had to back the audio up because I misunderstood something that was said.
The real problem, however, is Jason Dohring. His narration is flat, dull, and boring. Every time I heard him speak, I felt like I was listening to Ben Stein... ("Bueller.... Bueller..... Bueller..."). It was awful. I will never make that mistake again. Jason Dohring is going to the top of my list of narrators I will not listen to. Bleh...
Simon. He was always a great character, but his story line in this book was really interesting and moving.
Honestly, just read the book. This audio is awful and I feel as though I have wasted my money.
Reading is my passion...but life as a working single mom, listening to books better fits my busy schedule! LOVE Audible!
I have followed this series since the beginning. Actually, a number of my friends and I have kept up with the new releases. We all agree -- this book was so disappointing. I couldn't past the first two hours of this book. I have returned it. I wont be following this book series anymore.
PS - The movie that was released based loosely on the first book - horrid!! Don't watch if you like this book series. It will warp the characters. :-(
I love this story but find it incredibly annoying that each book is read by someone else!
Keep your original cast, you ruin it when you switch narrators from book to book!
None, again books are great, love the entire story, but poor performance has ruined it.
Can't sit still or stay focused long enough to read a book. Audible is the only way I will give myself the opportunity to enjoy fiction.
Narrators were changed and the voices drag out the most dull and uninteresting plot of the series. Cassandra Clare has lost her fan focus with this book. I will not be purchasing another in this series.
It was painful and time consuming trying to give this book a fair shot. I buy audio books for entertainment and this was so monotonous.
Ed Westwick and Mollie Quinn. Duh!
PAIN, Anger I waisted time on this.
Plot was not based on relationship and character development which is what all of Clare's fans expected.
Can I have my credit back? I can't finish this. But I want others to know and give them a chance to spend their credit elsewhere unless they rerecord this book. Still wont change the plot tempo or the lack of further character development. Maybe we know all there is about these characters and now all that is left is painful uninteresting wars and struggles. Snore.
