Publisher's summary

City of Fallen Angels take up where City of Glass left off. With Valentine out of the way, Clary thought she and Jace could finally be together--but when someone starts murdering the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle and leaving their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to destroy the new peace between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, she realizes the past can never be left entirely behind. As the Shadowhunters scramble to find out what's really going on, Jace breaks off all communication with her, refusing to tell her why. Desperate to help him, Clary plunges into solving the mystery, coming ever closer to a secret whose revelation may mend her relationship with Jace--or rip it apart forever. Meanwhile, when Camille Belcourt, the elegant bloodsucker who used to rule New York's vampire clans with an iron fist, returns to the city determined to re-establish her control, a vampire war is born. Only Simon--the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side--can decide the outcome; too bad he's caught up in his own complicated love life and wants nothing to do with Downworld politics! Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

A great book from a great series.

I expected this book to be good. It was excellent! The narrators were a nice surprise. I mean, I knew who they were from the beginning but still..... The guy was actually better at it than Molly! I could listen to him all day (And no, it's not the accent). His effort with the different voices was a very good one, excellent actually. I can't wait for the next one!

Other-worldly travel? Yes please!

Where does City of Fallen Angels rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Probably in the top ten. I adore Cassie Clare & I can't get enough of her books. I can't believe it's almost over :(

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't really understand Simon enough in this book to adore him like I do now, but probably Sebastian because he was new and he piqued my interest and curiosity. Now I hate him, but he was definitely intriguing at first.

What about Ed Westwick and Molly C. Quinn ’s performance did you like?

They were great and I loved the alternating narration!

Just When You Thought They Could Be Together!

Cassandra Clare has her stories together. She is a wonderful writer and this series has not hit a dull moment yet.

Just when you think Jace and Clary can be together, there is still something holding them apart.

I have read that many people hate the narrators. There are two in this book. It switches from
Ed Westwick (TV Series: Gossip Girl) to Molly C. Quinn (TV Series: Castle). I didn't mind the narrators at all. I liked what both brought to the book. However I can understand people wanting consistency when listening to a series and can get attached to one narrator. If you know this before going into the book, maybe it won't be so bad for you.

It's a great series, I wouldn't miss it!

The narration is hard to get over

What three words best describe Ed Westwick and Molly C. Quinn ’s performance?

I find myself yelling at Molly because she's pronouncing words wrong or different from previous narrators, it's very much like a young child reading a book and during the intimate scenes it's kinda creepy. Please consider a redo, I am not sure I'll be able to finish this one, and yikes I notice her name on other books.

Series had me hooked until this last Narrator

Was really enjoying the series until this last narrator, very , very bad....I went ahead and am trying to push through the rest...however, its not going well. So sad its a narrator whom destroys the final books.

Terrible Female Narrator!

Any additional comments?

This would have been enjoyable if it weren't for Molly C. Quinn, the female narrator. She's got a high pitched whiny voice that has no depth, or emotional range.
Molly took any enjoyment out of this book.

Ed Westwick, the male narrator, was decent. Though going between his (British?) accent into a New York accent can be a bit rough to get used to, he was certainly leagues better at narrating than Molly.

Narrators meh

I love Ed Westwick as an actor but I did not like him narrating this book. His voice that he used for Jace and Simon reminded me of The Godfather. I just could not picture Jace or Simon speaking like that...at all. It was hard to concentrate when he was talking. The girl was great though. The only thing I would say is the accents should be consist thru the series. Like the Seelie Queen has an Irish accent in some books but not others. It’s confusing.

Bad Narration

Sorry, but I didn't like Molly Quinn's take on the narration. Ed Westwick was pretty good, but the combination of the two actually made matters worse for me. Constantly jumping back and forth was jarring.

Even worse, the book was only mediocre.
