Publisher's summary

City of Fallen Angels take up where City of Glass left off. With Valentine out of the way, Clary thought she and Jace could finally be together--but when someone starts murdering the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle and leaving their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to destroy the new peace between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, she realizes the past can never be left entirely behind. As the Shadowhunters scramble to find out what's really going on, Jace breaks off all communication with her, refusing to tell her why. Desperate to help him, Clary plunges into solving the mystery, coming ever closer to a secret whose revelation may mend her relationship with Jace--or rip it apart forever. Meanwhile, when Camille Belcourt, the elegant bloodsucker who used to rule New York's vampire clans with an iron fist, returns to the city determined to re-establish her control, a vampire war is born. Only Simon--the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side--can decide the outcome; too bad he's caught up in his own complicated love life and wants nothing to do with Downworld politics! Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

Needs Better Readers

I love the story by the female reader made it hard to listen to it because she sounded sad at least 90% of the time.

Pick a narrator

wish they would pick a narrator and stick with them. Quinn annoyed with mispronounciation of story plot words and names, but the story was decent as always.

narrations don't mesh well for me

Westwick has a more mature voice compared to Quinn and sometimes Quinn is reading Jaces parts which as a listener with male and female narration I would expect the man to read the man's point of view. In the fist 15 minutes of the book there is a VERY young sounding Quinn reading for Jace. The 2 narrators just don't mesh for me. Quinn also mispronounced common names/places from other books.

I'm only about 3 hours into this book and I've already had a moment of 'ok I get it! ' because Jace ( read by female Quinn ) was saying 'I won't be like my father, I won't, I won't I wont..... repeating like 6 times, in a young female voice. doesn't make the characters seem like the 17/18 that Jace is.

so far this book is focused much more on the relationship between Jace and Claire, and Simon and his girl problems with Izzy and Maya. First 3 books were good, I just can't seem to get into this one, I don't know if it's how it's written, read or combination.

Not Quite

while I love the stories, this one just wasn't quite as captivating as the first 3. it felt a little more all over the place and less focused.

Narration

I have listened to a lot of Audible books over the years, and I believe this is absolutely the worst performance I’ve ever experienced. Just because people are actors doesn’t mean they are good book readers. Word to the wise - grab the book and read it yourself. Hands down the experience will be a better one.

Entertaining

Clary, Simon, Jace, Isabelle and Alex all have great roles. Theres new characters and details from past books become more understandable in this edition.
