"The Mortal Instruments series is a story world I love to live in. Beautiful." (Stephanie Meyer)
"The story's sensual flavor comes from the wealth of detail: demons with facial piercings, diners serving locusts and honey, pretty gay warlocks, and cameo appearances from other urban fantasies' characters....Lush and fun." (Kirkus Review)

Brilliant story telling. Great monsters. Even the boys r pretty in my head. Totally enjoyed this read I was transported to another world.
"new author ."
this is not a book I would usually read. I think that it is aimed at a younger readership. ITT was although a good story.
"Great book, kept me captivated"
This book has kept me listening at every opportunity. Can't wait to start the next one. Already missing the characters!
"A book for teenage girls only"
If you are looking for a book akin to twilight this is it. For me I kept hoping that the lead character would be put out of my misery. This proves the danger of bogof one good book one truly stunning not.
Terrible narration. Trying to use different voices to portray different characters just didn't work and ended up being confusing, didn't know which character was meant to be speaking some of the time. Some shrill moments which did not come across well on headphones!
A great young adult story, suitable for young at heart adults too! Will be working my way through the series.
"Good young adult book!"
While the themes in the story are quite familiar if you read a lot of vampire/demon young fiction, the alternate world described was very believable. I really enjoyed listening to this, if it was a book it would be a page turner.
I found her portrayals very believable, especially Simon.
"Jason Bourne meets Selene from Underworld."
It is one of the best as the story is forever ongoing at a good pace and the characters are introduced in such ways that you want to know more of them and their powers as their characters are one's you can relate too yet are extraordinary. Emotionally testing yet comfortable and the story doesn't unfold it grows with the reader being in every moment, anticipating yet being surprised. Cannot predict the sequence or outcome in any situation yet find them understandably believable.
The descriptions of the characters and the way the story feels like a good action film. The action is in the characters interaction and the scenes of fighting. Action everywhere in one form or another.
Beautiful voice which made the character believable. The balance in tone was correct and the pitch conveyed the worlds perfectly. A whisper,a thought ..... Well done. Clarity of voice yet softness and stubbornness both conveyed well when warranted.
Anticipation for the next book. I constantly felt the need to know, what is next , Pleasant anticipation which meant I was smiling as it made me feel good that i was listening to an enjoyable book that had all the ingredients to make it interesting and enjoyable at the same time.
Wish that you had the whole series of Mortal Instruments so that I didn't have to wait for book 5and six. I recommend it now to young adults and exceptional year 6 readers.
The story is fabulous - worth a listen if you like Harry Potter, Hunger Games, or the Twilight series. The narrator had a pleasant voice and captured the "feel" of the characters.
The story had a great storyline, and the author took time to explain new concepts tot eh reader without making it too long or patronising.
All of it!
The Mortal Instruments.
"Not just another fantasy story."
I really enjoyed the world Cassandra Clare has created the deep description of the world both real and fantasy. Ari Graynor narration only enhances the stories ability to draw you in.
Its easy to compare city of bones to all the leading fantasy books, twilight for its use of vampiers and wolves, hunger games for its battle to survive. there all great book but city of bones stands on it own as a compelling story .
I have not but from her performance telling this story i would defiantly look up other ones she has told and look forward to hearing the second book told by her.
A compelling story that draws you in from the get go, with an interesting ending twist that make you excited to carry on the series.
A book of teenagers finding there way in a supernatural world, learning secrets and fighting demons - of course. It was well written and narrated. I think if you enjoy this genre then this will meet your needs although very much felt like it was for a teenage audience.
