So begins the gripping third installment of this series in which Zoey's mettle will be tested like never before. Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Just when it seems things couldn't get any tougher, vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. But, as Zoey and her friends so often find out, how things appear rarely reflects the truth.

"Cast reeled me in from paragraph one. I snorted and giggled through the whole thing, and devoured it in one sitting" (Mary Janice Davidson, New York Times best-selling author of the Undead series).
"Highly addictive series" (Romantic Times),
Terrific story, couldn't wait to read the next book.... didn't realise the narrator changes for the forth. Edwina is an excellent narrator for this series. In this book you cringe, remember this character is a teen, but character development is strong and no one is perfect. A good listen if you have enjoyed the first two.
So when i began to listen to the house of night series i wasnt really expecting much. No offense. i really wasnt into the whole teeny bopper novels but a friend insisted! Soo now after finishing the third book i am super impressed with this series so far especially this last book. The concept of Vampire in the series is great there is so much going on in this book that i literally could not stop listening until the end. Those of you on the fence.... this is a great listen! Would definitely recommend it. But, start at the beginning!
The House of Night series is tagged as YA, and they are (lots of teenage angst) - but I enjoyed them all very much, and I am (ahem) mid-30's.
The plot is quite interesting, and I looked forward to each sequel as I listened to all of the books in the series, and can't wait for the next one in the fall. :)
Read the book yourself - next one is narrated by a much better reader. I do listen to it - but wish she would have had some help with her direction or reading.
I enjoy reading about the House of Night Gang and all their adventures.
It is sometimes hard to follow this series in the Audible versions because the narrator keeps changing. I think Edwina might have been my favorite one.
I loved this book. I don't believe it criticized religion as much as it criticized small-mindedness, which is exactly the thing teenagers need to hear, although the sexual themes are a little strong for teens. I think this is a great adult series, I have loved all of the books so far. However, the author is a little hard on the ears. Her blatant mispronunciations and horrid accents are tough, but once you get used to her the story line carries you through. Can't wait to see what happens when the narrator changes on the next book!
Once you start this series you will want to keep going it is very good and the narrator does a great job.
I have to say there was a point I nearly gave up on this book. Anyone who read my review of Betrayed would know that I didn't exactly enjoy the girl-has-three-boys-on-the-go element, which was a hundred times worse in this book. I could feel no sympathy for the main character and longed to see her get what was coming to her. The fact that she does is what saved the book for me. Also, there were some powerful moments which is why the book gets as high a rating as it does. I can only hope that Zoe will learn from her mistakes and be a better person because of them, and I'll be able to enjoy the later books as much as I did the first in the series.
"A great listen"
Yet another great listen, I would definitely recommend this to young teens. I love how the author makes it all updated with the latest lingo that young people can understand.
"Getting through this series fast.. Its really good"
Another great book in the House of Night Series. Properly addicted! If you like the young adult Vampire type books, this series is for you!
