This Series is Amazing

Ms. Swanson has created a world that is just riveting. Once I start each of these books, they are so hard to put down. The character development and back story are fascinating! I really like that each book is a complete story in itself, but that you want to keep reading the next one because of the reader’s involvement with the characters.

Once again Ms. Mollo-Christensen does an excellent job with the narration, providing different voices for each character, being on point with accents and allowing the feelings of the characters to come through in her voice.

My only regret regarding this series right now is that only three of the seven are narrated at this point. I’m hoping that the others are completed soon. This is certainly a series you do not want to miss.

Wonderful YA Series with a Great Storyline

Chameleon begins with Sam and Will traveling with her class to France to meet with the mysterious Waldhart de Rochefort aka Sir Walter. Will's sister, Mickie is there as one of the chaperon. Even though Sam and Will is in France, Helmann's daughter, Gretchen has set her eyes on Sam and believed that Sam is the key to building the superhuman.

This story goes more in depth of what the Rippler is and is able to do. More revelations are revealed as Sam and Will learns more about their rippling abilities.

Gwyn is still part of the story. In the Rippler, Sam chose Will over Gwyn. In this story, readers/listeners will want to know if Sam will ever tell Gwyn the truth and that Will is not an abusive boyfriend. Another thing is that readers/listeners will also want to know is how does Will feel about Sam. Remember, this story is told from Sam's POV so we already know how Sam feels about Will.

The narrator, Sarah Mollo-Christensen does a wonderful job of narrating Sam and Will and the German characters. The narrator made the experience that Sam and Will really did travel to France.

Another great book in this series

Where does Chameleon rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It ranks in the 90%

What was one of the most memorable moments of Chameleon?

When Deziem revealed to Sam he was indebted to her then later dying to protect her.

What about Sarah Mollo-Christensen’s performance did you like?

She has a smooth style and the ability to change accents.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was not happy with the way Deziem was treated. I loved the honor of his burial.

Any additional comments?

I look forward to the rest of this series. This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBlast dot com.

Good sequel, great audio

What does Sarah Mollo-Christensen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I would definitely listen to this narrator, she does amazing accents and is pleasant to listen to.

Any additional comments?

I started reading Chameleon shortly after finishing the first book, Ripple. I loved the Ripple audio, but at the time had the trilogy ebooks and decided to try reading an ebook again. My schedule just wasn't working out, with only reading a chapter or two on weekends, so I was happy to get the audio of this sequel to blast through on my commute. I forgot how amazing this narrator is. I loved her accents and I really think that adds so much to the enjoyment of the story.

The sequel was quite good, a solid 3.5 stars, so I would say it did well for being a "middle book" (though it appears there are many other books in this series that are outside the original trilogy). I liked how this takes place mostly in France, so we get a fun travel experience through the eyes of our characters. I liked Sir Walter - a great character, maybe even a grandfather-figure to Will and Mickie. We got to learn a few more of the secrets of the "chameleon" gene and finding out what Hellman and Helga were really plotting.

What bothered me though is why are these long-term chameleons/ripplers dragging their feet to act and standing by as their people get killed off? Even Sir Walter explained that he was just biding his time and didn't really feel like he was ready to do anything, yet in the meantime, his bloodline was being wiped away. Why does it have to take Sam and Will being in danger to finally get things moving?

In these first two books it is mostly Helga and her henchmen who are after Sam, so I'm wondering if we'll finally see Hellman come out of hiding in the next book. This one didn't end on a cliffhanger, exactly, but it was an open-ending nonetheless.

As for the romance factor, I just wanted to hit Will over the head a few times. Silly teenage misunderstandings are a trope that I see too much in books. But I'm glad Sam grew some ovaries and did something about it. Now I'm looking forward to finding out what happens with them.

Maybe I'll be able to find time to read the third ebook. Or maybe I'll wait for the next audio :)

Good

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this second book in the Ripple series. The author revealed a lot more back story and tied up loose ends. The constant bickering between Will and his sister Mickie was just as monotonous and irritating as the first book.Yet I feel the author delivered a more mature story in The Chameleon. The book finishes nicely without a big cliffhanger, but leaves room for more in the series. The narrator is quite pleasant to listen to.I received an audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Vive le France

This was a very nice second book to the series. It picks up right as soon as the first ends. One things in particular that I liked was the consistency the author has with regards to the character's special abilities. They are really are similar to that in book 1 with a few nifty new little tricks which actual made them better without getting too out of control. I enjoyed the new setting of France and the descriptions were very detailed. We continue to learn and unravel the mystery and history of the characters and their special abilities which was interesting and a good lead up to the third installment. All this being said I really was hoping for more punch in the ending. Exciting things did happen however I just wanted more. That might be just my expectation or maybe it just is me wanting more of the series. The narration was flawless. The pacing was on par and the voices for each character, including accents were outstanding. There couldn't be a better narrator for this book and these characters. Cannot wait for the third book to be released in audio format.
