Publisher's summary

"You've just always been the powerful one. I'm the smart aleck."

"We're the same. I'm night, you're day. You have to have both to have life."

"You can hide in the shadows."

"And you can shine like the sun. This prophesy is about both of us."

Destiny doesn't think she's anything special. The daughter of an outcast witch. Her twin, Fate, is her best friend, so that's awesome. They're experts in love potions and selling them to crazy high school kids.

So they can buy more shoes.

But that all changes when their school is attacked by warlocks - warlocks who want her power for their own. The attack launches her onto the path the stars have chosen for Destiny, Fate, and their long-lost father.

Oh, and Quin.

Quin, who's the son of a witch, only tolerating Destiny's presence because she can save his mother. Except along the way, that all changes, and he realizes Destiny is everything he never knew he wanted. The only problem is she thinks if love can be made from a potion, it can't be a real thing.

If they survive this, he's going to prove her wrong.

awesome!

The characters are engaging and well developed. The plot was great, and fast paced. I can't wait for the next book. I LOVED that this was NOT a cliff hanger, and everything wrapped up nicely!

One of the biggest obstacles reading a book via Audible is liking the reader's voice. This narrator was great. The story was amazing.

Awesome... Just Awesome!

Fate and Destiny are twin potions witches, one light and one dark. They live with their mother, outcast from any coven, and create their own love potions to sell to their classmates. Their aunt, a warrior witch, occasionally shows up to request new potions to aid in the fight against the warlocks. But what Fate and Destiny don't know is that all the other potion witches have been killed, and without their backup the witches are slowly losing the war.

The girls start at a new school and Destiny rubs Quin, a popular football player, the wrong way. Quin just happens to be the son of a warrior witch. One day, warlocks attack their school, and Destiny joins with Quin to fight them. Both of their mothers are injured as a result of the battle. Quin, Destiny, Fate, and Fate's boyfriend Damien need to find a way to save them, and to fight off the warlocks determined to take their magic.

I think this book just made me fall in love with the paranormal fantasy genre! There's a lot going on in this book, a war between the witches and warlocks, fight to save their mothers, reconnecting with old family, learning about the witches' history, and the new romance. Despite all of this, it was written with a good natural flow and pacing, with no large info dumps. I was intrigued from the beginning and couldn't stop listening to it. The world the author created is fascinating, and I really wanted to learn more about it.

Any book that had me laughing out loud in the first paragraph is a winner. Fate and Destiny were awesomely snarky. They had this great banter between them that anyone with a sister would recognize. They're just incredibly likable, and the bond they shared with their mother was really special.

The narrator did a great job, she was easy to listen to. She did perform a different voice for male or female characters, and also gave Fate and Destiny distinct speaking voices. I thought it fit their personalities well. There weren't any jarring notes, and she narrated smoothly and never pulled me out of the story. I received a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Amazing Teen/YA Fantasy about Witches!

YA/Teen Paranormal Fantasy is my favorite genre. This book was awesome and I enjoyed everything about. The characters were well developed and interesting. I was totally absorbed with the story from beginning to end.

The narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

This book was packed with action, suspense, betrayal, misunderstandings, and love. Destiny and Fate are great witches with a big job ahead of them...

I'm looking forward to the next book. I'm glad this one did not conclude with a cliffhanger but I'm getting the next book soon. I really enjoyed this author's writing style.

Cauldron bubble

Cauldrons bubble, broomsticks fly and warlocks are more demon like than human. This is an amazing young adult story about 2 teenage twin witches. Destiny and Fate but one doesn’t believe in love because how can love be true when you can create a love potion. But it’s more than that these two young witches are part of a prophecy. And that is one big prophecy that needs to be filled. Loved this story and it came to life with Lori Price.

Great witch/warlock paranormal YA novel!

Caudron Bubble, Volume 1 in the Toil & Trouble series by Wendy Knight is a really fun, fast-paced and action packed Teen/YA paranormal novel. It's about an ongoing battle between witches and warlocks and two potion witches, Destiny and Fate, and their role in the ongoing battle, as well as Quinn, their family members and other the other witches. I don't want to give anything away, but this is a pretty decent listen coming in at over seven and a half hours, but it really flies by. Ms. Knight crafted a great intro book to this series that just keeps the readers attention the entire time. I'd definitely recommend it!

Lori Prince did a good job narrating Cauldron Bubble. She handled *most* of the voices really well and brought life to the character and the story. She didn't narrate the older male voices in the story quite as well as the rest of the characters in the book. Destiny and Fate's father and the elder twins sounded weird and unnatural, for example. They sounded like they were about to croak. Plus, their father, from what I gathered, would have been quite a bit younger than the elder twins, so why do they both sound so dang old?! Overall though, it didn't take away from the listening experience. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Funny and fun

It strikes me that there doesn't seem to be a explanation for the stars that are given. So I thought I'd start giving my take on it.
1 horrible no redeeming qualities. So far I've never given a 1.
2 blah but there are redeeming qualities.
3 ok worth reading.

Darn good book

the voices for the mom and fate were kinda the same so if I wasn't paying full attention I got a little confused. Other than that I loved this book especially since a lot of other books are focusing on vampires. it was a nice reprieve
