Publisher's summary

For as long as Esmerine can remember, she has longed to join her older sister, Dosinia, as a siren - the highest calling a mermaid can have. When Dosinia runs away to the mainland, Esmerine is sent to retrieve her. Using magic to transform her tail into legs, she makes her way unsteadily to the capital city.

There she comes upon a friend she hasn’t seen since childhood - a dashing young man named Alandare, who belongs to a winged race of people. As Esmerine and Alandare band together to search for Dosinia, they rekindle a friendship… and ignite the emotions for a love so great, it cannot be bound by sea, land, or air.

to pass the time

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I got this book since it received pretty good reviews from goodreads and thought I would give it a listen....

this was a pleasant book to listen to and pass the time. The narrator was easy to listen to but I honestly didn't like the way Alan was narrated (my personal opinion not that the narrator was bad I just thought he could have been voiced differently). The mermaid and siren aspects I absolutely loved and wish more time was spent in that world it really makes you re think everything sirens and mermaids are thought to be like.

over all story flowed well there just wasn't much going on in the book the author had so many avenues this book could have gone down I feel she chose a safe path the story was not exciting yet not boring just an easy read/listen.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

no

A romance between a mermaid and a winged boy.

There were other things that took place in this book, but my favorite was the relationship between Esmerine and Alan. For 3/4 of the book I was sad because their future wasn’t possible. When the twist came, it made me so happy and the ending was terribly romantic. A lovely, clean romance. Yes!
