Nothing much exciting rolls through Violet White’s sleepy, seaside town...until River West comes along. River rents the guesthouse behind Violet’s crumbling estate, and as eerie, grim things start to happen, Violet begins to wonder about the boy living in her backyard. Is River just a crooked-smiling liar with pretty eyes and a mysterious past? Or could he be something more? Violet’s grandmother always warned her about the Devil, but she never said he could be a dark-haired boy who takes naps in the sun, who likes coffee, who kisses you in a cemetery...who makes you want to kiss back. Violet’s already so knee-deep in love, she can’t see straight. And that’s just how River likes it. Blending faded decadence and the thrill of gothic horror, April Genevieve Tucholke weaves a dreamy, twisting contemporary romance, as gorgeously told as it is terrifying.

I can't imagine life without earbuds playing an Audible book in my head.
All of it
No but I love her.
So many but I'm driving! Just had to stop and recommend this freaking great audio book.
This was a difficult book to finish. I didn't care about the characters or the plot and the big 'twist' at the end did nothing to make up for the lack of excitement throughout the rest of the book. To be honest, I didn't even like the narrator. I'm really not sure why this was rated so highly.
Love this site! I have a very busy job, so listening to audio books enables me to keep up on great stories!
Maybe in a year or so? Definitely will listen again before the second book comes out.
That creepy ability. CRAZY!
Good voices, all very different.
Things got interesting as soon as the Brother and Half Brother showed up. Especially the latter. Yikes!
Though they aren't a main focus of the story, I can't stand parents who put themselves before their children. The ending is supposed to be so happy, but all I wanted to do is punch the parents. Don't abandon your children! I hope they aren't in the second book. I'm very displeased with them. But I am dying to see what happens next! The devil is still out there...
