This title was previously released as Wild Cards.
After getting kicked out of boarding school, bad boy Derek Fitzpatrick has no choice but to live with his ditzy stepmother while his military dad is deployed. Things quickly go from bad to worse when he finds out she plans to move them back to her childhood home in Illinois.
Ashtyn Parker knows one thing for certain - people you care about leave without a backward glance. A football scholarship would finally give her the chance to leave. So she pours everything into winning a state championship, until her boyfriend and star quarterback betrays them all by joining their rival team.
Ashtyn needs a new game plan, but it requires trusting Derek - someone she barely knows, someone born to break the rules.

What made the experience of listening to Better Than Perfect the most enjoyable?
The story was really fantastic - I could easily pick up where I left off and loved the chemistry between the two characters.Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked Derek the best, but his narrator was also not my favorite at times. Derek was so cocky, but endearing. So forward, but also a little mysterious. What three words best describe Amy Rubinate and Kirby Heyborne ’s voice?
Kirby: clear, sultry, sometimes-too-twangyAmy: versatile, pleasant, a little unbelievable delivering *some* lines.
Any additional comments?
It really bothered me that the male narrator called Ashton "Ashjin" the entire book. He's from the south, Derek - the male character in the book, but he shouldn't completely mispronounce this word to that extent.Loved the story, meh about male narrator
