Publisher's summary

What does surfing, basketball, girls, best friends, and a gang of bullies all add up to? A whole lot of fun for Brett Buyer and his Beach Angel.

Meet Brett Buyer. He's on not one, but two basketball teams, which he juggles while falling in love with a very cute surfer girl named Brenda - all while dealing with Chopper Cruz and his Porter Street Gang of punks. Brett Buyer is about to learn the meaning of true friendship, loyalty, and what it means to stand up for what you believe in. That is, if he can survive the eighth grade.

A Charming Story of Young Love

Would you consider the audio edition of Beach Angel to be better than the print version?

Yes. I love the emotion and character given to these teens.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Beach Angel?

I loved both the surf competition and the final ball game. Great tales of competition for both sides of the relationship.

Which character – as performed by Brian Rollins – was your favorite?

Both the main teens. The narrator gives as much weight to her as she does to him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The final confrontation with Chopper. Bullies are way too big a problem and I love that Summer Lee is tackling it.

Any additional comments?

Delightful little story that was fun and entertaining. I'm recommending to my nieces and nephews.
