Step into the world of Shadow Falls, a camp that helps teens tap into their special…talents. Once you visit, you'll never forget it - and you'll never, ever be the same.
From the moment Kylie Galen arrived at Shadow Falls Camp, she's had one burning question: What am I? Surrounded by vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, fairies, and witches, Kylie longs to figure out her own supernatural identity… and what her burgeoning powers mean. And now she'll need them more than ever, because she's being haunted by a new spirit who insists that someone Kylie knows - and loves - will die before the end of the summer. If only she only knew who she was supposed to save. And how….
But giving Kylie the most trouble is her aching heart. Gorgeous werewolf Lucas left camp with another girl, but he's still visiting Kylie in her dreams. And Derek, a sexy half Fae who's always been there for her when she needed him, is pushing to get more serious - and growing impatient, especially when Lucas returns. Kylie knows she needs to decide between the boys, and it's tearing her up inside.
Yet romance will have to wait, because something from the dark side of the supernatural world is hiding in Shadow Falls. It's about to threaten everything she holds dear…and bring her closer to her destiny.

I'm not used to listening to books and I'll admit this was a bit weird for me at first but Katie schorr does a great job at narrating and the story itself is captivating. I'm gunna get started on the next book
This book is an amazing sequel it is a fun roller coaster all the way to the end. The narrator, Katie Schorr, does a great job of bringing the characters to life. By the end of the book you will want to read or listen to the next one.
I love to read sci-fi and thrillers. Will read anything that gets good reviews. I hear a lot of good books that way.
The concept of mixing so many different kinds species in one camp.
her roommates. That is what kept her grounded at the worst of times.
This is the first time I have listened to Katie Schorr. She did a very good job
when the lion was in her room.
This gives a different out look on the supernatural.
I am a school counselor that loves horror, fantasy, autobiographies, self-help, and Christian genres. I am a BIG bookworm! Reading is life!
Yes, because the narrator gives the story character. She gives Kylie and her friends a picture for me that I might not have gotten if I had read it on my own. She is really good at giving each character a different voice or accent.
Probably "The Discovery of Witches" because both stories create a world unknown to humans that are filled with monsters. In both of these stories, a romance brews between two different species of creatures. The main character in both are discovering their gifts because they have been locked away. There is something special that is sought after by the other creatures. In "Discovery of Witches," it's a powerful book, but in "Awake at Dawn" it's Kylie herself because she possesses several powerful gifts.
My favorite character is Lucas because he makes you smile because you know his game. He's very charming and cunning! I like that he's known Kylie since they were little and they have a strong, deep bond. He does feel a bit obsessive with Kylie compared to Derek, but it makes sense because he's a werewolf and they can be pretty possessive, jealous, and protective. I think he's who she should be with because I felt that Derek gave up too easy.
Yes! I seriously could not stop reading this book! I wanted to find out what was going to happen next! You get wrapped up in the characters and forget they don't really exist. I also like that this story takes place in the Dallas area where I live!
An AMAZING series! Cannot wait to find out what she is finally!!!
It turns and twists and you can really relate to it and the reader is good at all the different characters, so you can tell who is who!! One of my fav's and the second is even better!
I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of abnormality
