Publisher's summary

Several things about 14-year-old Georgia Nicolson's life are very wrong. Her bedroom smells like her little sister probably peed somewhere, but she can?t find where. Angus, her enormous cat, keeps terrorizing Mrs. Next Door's poodle. Dad's gone off to look for work in New Zealand. And one of her friends has rated Georgia's nose a zero on a scale from 1-10. But what's really driving her crazy is that Sex God Robbie doesn't give her the time of day. In fact, he's dating total idiot Lindsay, who Georgia happens to know wears thong knickers, which have no purpose except to climb up your bum. Is it too much for Georgia to hope for some full-frontal snogging with a Sex God, if he ever notices her?

Louise Rennison caused a sensation with this hilarious book that has been called Bridget Jones' Diary for adolescents. Narrator Stina Nielsen brilliantly fills the shoes of one of the most colorful young adult book characters in years.

Hilarious listen for pre-teens and adults

This is a hilarious story about the everyday happenings of a British 14-year-old. The British slang and wonderful narration would be worth the listen even without the entertaining story. The references to Georgia's cat never failed to make laugh out loud, and Georgia's madcap shenanigans were a great portrayal of the teenage psyche. One word of warning, however-- there is a LOT of British slang that may be confusing for those not familiar with it. There is a "glossary" at the end that explains it, but that is of limited usefulness in an audio format. Teens and folks with limited British exposure might do better to enjoy this one in print, but whatever the format this is not one to miss!

Best. Audio. Book. Ever.

Where does Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book can only be describes as genius, crazy and so funny you might pee your pants. I was on the bus looking like an insane person laughing my ass off to this book. Buy it, better yet buy the book version so you can read along.

What other book might you compare Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging to and why?

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling
Gallagher Girls Series By Ally Carter
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich

Have you listened to any of Stina Nielson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I thought she did a fantastic job. Her tone and inflection perfectly imitated that of a very pissed off but hilarious cheeky teenager.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, unfortunately life got in the way

Any additional comments?

Fantastic movie, book and the audiobook really did it justice.

So fun!

I read this book when I was younger and I absolutely loved it. I decided to get the audio version and Stina Nielson completely brought it to life for me! I LOVE Louise Rennison's Georgia Nicolson books. They are so hilarious and so much fun. I have downloaded the rest of the series and I've been laughing through all of them. Don't pass up this fun (and funny!) book. Even as an adult, I still love to read and re-read this series.

Nostalgic!

I remember reading this book when I was probably 12 and it was so fun to listen to again! Just a cute, fun story that’s relatable for young women.

not for teens?

I read this book as a twenty year old back in 2000, and remember it being so funny, fun, and just a joy. I re-listened to it now to see if I should give it to one of my pre-teen neices. I don't think it is great for that age. maybe for a mature teen, but the book starts out with the main character worried about her breast size, her friend buying smaller size clothes to impress the male cashier, and her worried about how her eyes look in the morning. I remember it all seemed funny as a 20 year old who didn't care about those things anymore, but a teen may be less confident, and it may reinforce some insecurities rather than poke fun at them. But, I'm not a psychologist so I may be wrong. maybe it will seem fun to a teen as well, and help them to not take teenage worries too seriously. I guess I suggest reading it yourself before giving it to any young girls.

Love the series, not for everyone

I love this series and have since I was in middle school because it’s mostly just a teenage girl and her friends/family living every day life. It’s written in diary style so you really feel like you’re experiencing what Georgia (the main character) is.
Georgia is a bit sassy but she’s quite funny and the author does an excellent job of writing a teenage girl. Sometimes it gets a bit petty and the drama is always not-so-serious stuff like getting detention for laughing too much in class, but that’s part of the draw.
Obviously the British slang and humor aren’t for everyone. I definitely preferred reading them over listening originally so I could look up slang in the back of the book, where I don’t usually listen to audiobooks while holding my phone. And not every one wants to listen to a teenage girl complain about flirting with the local grocer boy or shaving her legs wrong.
If you like the Princess Diaries series, this is similar, except Georgia is less shy, more outspoken, and not a princess like Mia.

I love this book

This book is very relatable even at an older age. it's fun to listen to and gives me something to look forward to. Georgia is a great character for girls how are coming of age and taking an interest in relationships or crushes.
