What if your whole world was a lie? What if a single revelation - like a single choice - changed everything? What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?
The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered - fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she's known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.
But Tris's new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature - and of herself - while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.

The 1 reader Emma Galvin
Not Aaron Stanford
This book was spoilt by the 2 readers It was ok when Emma Galvin read the first 2 in the series but the introduction of Aaron Stanford didn’t work for me
Did not read the print version.
The obvious choice would be Tris but in all honesty in this book it was Tobias (Four). I like the fact that his character was explored in this book and, myself a man, I can identify with some of his internal struggles.
The contrasting voices telling the 2 different characters' stories were very nicely done and adds a great dimension.
There is so much happening in the book! Particular points for me were when Tris & Tobias finally reach a point where it seems like they may have a future together, Tris & her brother finally making peace and the whole last bit from when "it" happens to the end.
I know there are a lot of different views on the ending of the book. For me the "it" that happens makes the story great and very unique and very memorable, the "thereafter" is the really depressing part as it does not provide proper closure and does not really turn into a good enough positive to dampen the sadness. But that being said, still a great book and great series.
"A little disappointed."
Having previously enjoyed the other 2 books in the series I felt disappointed by how the story telling had developed. It felt to me like it had become more about describing fours jaw line than the struggle between the factions.
The ending did improve the story for me. Helping me to reconnect with character I had enjoyed learning about in previous books.
To me the final book was a let down in comparison to the rest of the series.
Yes the first 2 books were much better written and better story lines
Maybe if something new comes up
No, it really felt like a filler. first 2 books seemed to fill well with a full story, this one just seemed to be a filler until the end of the book came.
Get the 3 books as enjoyable in all but book 3 really seemed to lack the story of the first 2 books and was a bit of hard work to keep concentration to the end.
"No body likes a sad ending."
The ending, I'm a happy ending kinda girl.
Yes, the idea behind the books are great and I really enjoyed the series over all I just felt the last book was a bit disappointing.
No I haven't but I enjoyed listening to both and would again
Not sure, probably.
Loved the idea behind these books and if you enjoy books like the hunger games then I would definitely recommend theses.
I would recommend this whole series to anyone who loves the dystopian genre. Before I listened to this book I heard lost of bad thing about the ending, but for me it was perfect. Sometimes not liking what is happening in the story is not the same as not liking the book and I think some people confused the two. Personally I think this is the best series I've listened to all year.
The Hunger Games series. Another of my favourites and I think if you enjoyed that one, you'll love this too.
I thought the narration was perfect for the characters.
I wanted too, but time restraints and family life meant it took me 5 days to get through.
Definitely a series worth using your credit on!
"Didn't meet the hype"
Yeah unwritten the 2 sequels and kept it a standalone.
Predictable, unsatisfactory, cop out.
I don't know
I would not recommend this book, unfortunately. The story line is not as strong as the previous books and it felt like it carried on and on and on for no good reason whatsoever. Every good writer will tell you that less is more! It felt she had no control over her own story. I also did not like having two POVs as opposed to just one, as with the previous books. There was a lot of repetition and the with this, the writer actually exposed a weakness, not being able to portray a male character as good as a female one, unless the story is told solely from a female POV in which case this is far less noticeable.
It felt I was reading the work of a fanfiction writer, not of an accomplished published writer with a Hollywood blockbuster. I will be returning this book and getting my money back. Fanfiction is free for a reason, I should not have had to pay for this ...
No, I got bored and lost. The character's seemed off as well, they had no credibility for me on this one. Shame because I really enjoyed the previous two books, which I will be keeping in my library.
I want to thank Audible for making returns so easy!
Fab story compelling read
Hunger Games as its high energy
easy read on the bus
Made me laugh , makes you think
Cant wait t finish
"Wish I hadnt listen to it"
**SPOILER ALERT**Yes, I would not have killed off the made character . Feel like I've wasted 30 hours of my time . I would have watched the news if I wanted to feel down. I honestly believe that killing of triss bought nothing to the story
**SPOILER ALERT**I read the other two books and I was full of hope like and faith in the write to bring them together in a better world, but what I got was a book where the made two do nothing but row, work it out. Then she gets killed off which she really didn't have to do. Felt dishearted and wish I could forget that I've ever listen to this book.
Didn't enjoy much about this book. First two were much better
Not at all
It's not worth your time or money . They row, get together and then she dies. I'm sure someone will like it, and that's good. It just didn't do much for me. I live in pain all the time and I listen to book as I can't hold a book up and typing this is hurting. But I felt so cross after listening to this for the very first time I wanted to share my disappointment.
Sorry if you don't agree.
