She doesn't want to go, but Em must chaperone her little sister to the grand opening of a new Stark Megastore. Her sister can't wait to see the heartthrobs and supermodels that will make an appearance, including hunky Gabriel Luna and beautiful Nikki Howard. Em couldn't care less. Then disaster strikes, and after a bizarre accident, it seems that Em just isn't herself any more - literally.

I'm an adult and enjoyed this "teen" book. Cabot explores one of the most common desires of all teenage girls--to become instantly rich, beautiful and popular--yet without the "work!" It was a great read but I thought the ending was weak. It seemed the author ran out of ideas and just ended it. Apart from that, I would recommend it for teens and anyone wanting a good, clean, fun read.
This book is great - I hope this turns into a series. I love the dilema facing Em/Nicky and the wonders & joys of discovering her new "persona" and trying to stay in close contact with her family. This "theme" has a lot of room for more exploration.
The story is repetitive and the characters under developed. The squeals of the main character's 14 year old sister were so ear deafening I had to take my ear buds out.
I really enjoyed hearing this book. I finished it very fast as I wanted to know how the story would go on. I started to hear the second book as soon as I finished this one. It was a very creative story involving a brain transplant of the smart girl Em into a rather spoiled and not very smart top model Nikki after an accident at the opening of a megastore. Em needs to adjust and has to keep it secret while missing her former secret love Christopher, being pursued by ex-boyfriends of Nikki, paparazzi's and finding out that she is being secretly spied on. The book was very clearly narrated and was easy to follow.
The creative idea of a brain being transplanted into another (in this case gorgeous) body and its consequences
The idea of transplanting a brain is very creative. Meg Cabot kept the story going adding more and more facts to the story turning the story very entertaining
I like to read VERY much .. I'm obsessed with reading I don't have time to actually read a book so I've been a listener for three years now
the idea of the story is good but the narrator is older than a teenage girl .. and the dialoug is very prolonged ..
