Despairing of her own ability to find a suitable husband, Emma agrees to be part of a compatibility project to get married at first sight.

Meanwhile Cooper is struggling to get over his crush on Bridget and seems destined to stay firmly on the shelf too. Perhaps it’s time his fate was taken out of his hands....

Is happily-ever-after just about daring to take a chance, or do you need some extra magic to make love last?

Join Beth Moran, Cooper and the Donovan sisters on this life-affirming and uplifting tale of love, family, friendship and risking it all for happiness.

Lovely book lovely story

It was an absolutely delightful story. And it is so refreshing to find a story that does not contain a lot of fun Garrity poor inappropriate content for those who are just like to hear something nice and clean and yes it’s entertaining.

Not your typical romance

Really enjoyed the story and it was refreshing to listen to something different. It was about love, loss, family and forgiveness. The narrator was fantastic with all the different characters she played…really wonderful. Can’t wait to look up more books by the author.

Cute and sweet

I have listened to a few of Beth Morans books and really enjoy them. They are clean and sweet. They make me laugh and cry. I really enjoy them. The narrator does an excellent job.

Left

I say left because the author left several people’s stories unfinished. Also, the main character is vegan. Most of the characters and themes are very left.

Love, Laughter and Family at it's Finest

4 solid stars for love, family and laughter. Beth Moran's TAKE A CHANCE ON ME is a delightful walk through the middle of a truly loving family with five sisters. How else would their life be but messy, a little outrageous at times, and completely entangled due to the hard solid love these women had for one another, for their parents, and their parents for them. Lucky are the men who were invited into their world and us readers who were able to laugh and cry along with them. I listened to the audiobook, the accented narration make it all just that much better. Wonderfully written story and well done narration, I highly recommend it.

Complex and intelligent romance

This is an interesting and surprisingly suspenseful story about appealing and realistic people. The characters are three dimensional and I really cared about them. The reader does a great job, conveying great emotion where appropriate. She has to do Jamaican, Italian, and American accents and does a good job with all, considering the challenge of the task. This is a lovely example of a marriage plot book in the Jane Austen tradition written for modern times. I highly recommend it!

Confusing and meandering

There were so many stories going on, some which were just silly, that it felt like I’d been dropped into a series in the middle. While the description suggested that one sister was the main character, she really wasn’t. And the other side stories were too complex just to be companion stories. There was just too much going on- maybe each Donovan sister deserved her own book.

Narrator’s accents were laughable stereotypes - Italian mother, Rastafarian brother in law, American businessman. All were terrible.

A fun listen

This book was enjoyable and had a nice amount of character development. The big family added a nice variety of storylines.

Not my favorite

Not a terrible storyline but not my favorite. I really had trouble getting into the storyline until about the second half of the book.

Disappointed at the end

I was really liking this book, until what Cooper and Bridgett did to Emma. I don’t think I would ever for give the 2 of them. It’s sad to find Emma all alone at the end. I was really rooting for her and Cooper.
