Great book! For every writer.

His theory about story structure is super helpful for the writer. Focusing on these hero goal, sequences for each act will definitely help my writing. He also goes through the whole range of structural elements, character development, dialogue, and more. A must read.

Insightful and comprehensive

Every memorable movie or novel began as a blank sheet of paper and it's good screenwriters that lay the foundation to unforgettable scenes and performances. And Eric Edson's The Story Solution is quite simply one of the most practical guides to becoming one.

Not only is Eric an experienced Hollywood screenwriter, he is also a professor proficient in speaking. This makes for a well narrated audiobook that offers easy listening of a solid screenwriting blueprint with many excellent points.

It's a great tool for mastering the art of creating a relatable, dynamic hero or heroine through emotional depth. It can help beginners and seasoned script writers discover hidden problems that can ruin the story, and understand the factors that makes or breaks powerful dialogues.

The Story Solution audiobook makes learning about screenwriting more flexible. Listen to Eric give expert advice on unveiling depth and passion in scripts through three-dimensional heroes and emotion-filled plots. It's truly a must-have for screenwriters in whatever generation that's right on the money.

I’m going to listen again… and again…

If you want to take the mystery out of writing a great screenplay, this is the book for you. It lays the steps out so simply while using a variety of movie examples throughout that clearly illustrate what the author is explaining. I’m going to start listening to it again right away. I also bought the physical copy in order to flip through and reference things as needed. It has great exercises you can do as well. Can’t recommend this enough.

A must read (or listen) for writers of all genres

Eric Edson teaches screen writing but the plot structures he calls story beats are a useful approach for all story types including short stories and novels. Screen writers learn these techniques but sadly the literary fiction writers and their instructors do not teach plot structure. So take a lesson from the screen writing instructor, Eric Edson, and improve your stories.

One of my favorites

If you're just a beginner or already a pro in screenwriting, you should not miss this book. I've listened to a number of audiobooks on screenwriting and I can say that this is one of my favorite. The 10 hours of listening is very insightful. I had several Aha moments and I got a lot of new tricks to try. Surely, I will revisit this book in the future.
I have to give a plus to the narration as well. The audio is excellent and it just feels more tangible because Mr. Edson is the one narrating, he has a wonderful voice.

Brilliant Work

One of the best books of its kind and surprisingly well narrated by the author. Read it and write better screenplays (and novels).
