Publisher's summary

Tommy Lee, not quite 18, shows up at a real cow outfit the morning after his high school graduation ceremony. He is long on cowboy skills but short on social skills, and his job on the Cow Creek Ranch will put him in situations he's not prepared to deal with.

Wanting to make a hand and be somebody, Tommy throws in with some very experienced older men who aren't afraid to use their knowledge and expertise to gain wealth quickly.

There is nothing far-fetched about this story - you might even say it's dangerously close to the truth.

Tommy Lee

Remarkable story of true cowboy life. So familiar to those of us that can relate to the life of Tommy Lee.

Very enjoyable

I enjoyed listening to the audiobook as much as I enjoyed reading the book. Mr Brimley’s inflections and tone were a joy to listen to. I highly recommend all of Mr. Ashurst’s books and audiobook.

Artist

Ed Ashurst is an artist that can paint a vivid picture with words. We enjoyed the story, setting, and characters. Wilford Brimley was the perfect voice for the job.

Loved, loved, loved it!

Ed did such an amazing job writing this story. The detail describing the bucking horses and branding pen adventures made me feel like I was right there with them. I loved the story and the message. Good job Ed!!

Modern western

Modern westerns are hard to find but this is one of the best the story is as authentic as it gets and brings you up close and personal to working cowboys. Wilfred Brimley was a great choice. I only hope they'll add the rest of Ed Ashurst books maybe narrated by Barry Corbin.
