Publisher's summary

Rick Reilly has been a senior sports writer for Sports Illustrated for the past 17 years, and has been named "Sports Writer of The Year" seven times. Now, he pokes his nose into the world of golf. How does he do it? By caddying ("looping") for top players, celebrities, and some really bad run-of-the-mill golfers, Reilly gains insight into the minds of golfers, their winning or less-than-winning ways, and what they actually mutter when they're in the middle of play. Even though Reilly doesn't know a thing about actual caddying, Jack Nicklaus, David Duval, Tom Lehmann, Deepak Chopra, Donald Trump, Casey Martin, and a blind golfer let him fumble through the motions at their sides. The result is a hilarious book of wisdom and humor.

Critic reviews

"Hilarious misadventures, catty gossip, and downright embarrassing facts are only part of the appeal of this deftly written journal by Sports Illustrated writer Reilly....A truly funny, don't-miss read." (Publishers Weekly)

Golf and lifestyles with a side order of humour!

A really worthwhile way to spend 7 hours and 34 mins ! It is more than just golf it is about personalities and their passions told enthusiastically through the mind of a great sport journalist

Absolutely Loved It

A funny, witty, and charming book about an attempt at being a Caddy for some of golf's most famous names, and some not so famous.

The author lays out an entertaining journey that will make you laugh while at the same time, keep you interested too. Each of the people he caddies for are made into funny characters in a way. By the end of each brief section describing his adventure with a subject, you can't help but laugh out loud at some of the moments between the author and his subjects.

I consider myself a "tough crowd" when it comes to humor, but Reilly hit the spot on this one. He doesn't suck up to any of the golfers in the book, and gives the reader a good & bad aspect of the person, which reveals a human side to some of them.

The narrator, Grover Gardner, did excellent as always.

A very interesting read, and would even be entertaining for those who don't know much about golf. Give it a shot, I don't think you'll walk away saying you hated this book.

Good stories narrator was terrible

Rick did his own narration on last book I listened to and much better. He’s a comedian and this guy just dead panned the whole book. If I wanted to listen to non fiction civil war history would be great but not for Rick Reilly

Absolutely Friggin' Hilarious!!!

Rick Reilly does an awesome job of telling stories not just about himself, but the players (and their caddies) he works for. He pays respect when it is merited (w/ Jack Nicklaus, Tom Lehman, and the blind golfer), has fun when he is supposed to (w/ John Daly), and pokes fun when it is deserved (w/ Tommy Aaron, LPGA golfer). Rick does an admirable job with Casey Martin too, doing a little investigative journalism, and showing both sides of the ADA golf cart law suit. He has a wit that makes this golf book interesting and entertaining. I was laughing out loud! I'm going looking for more Rick Reilly material next chance I get.

Who's Youre Caddy

This is the most humorous book I have listened to in years. I have listened to it at least 5 times. The narator is perfect for this recording. Even if you don't understand or like golf you will find this book entertaining!
