Publisher's summary

At the heart of Tamson House is the wood. And in that wood is the mystery.

Tamson House, in modern urban Ottawa, is a rambling, eccentric curiosity of a house - and a place of hidden power. Built at a point where the leylines meet, upon land that was once a sacred site, it is the gateway to a spirit world where Celtic and Native American magic mingle and leak into our own.

In the overgrown garden of Tamson House, a Coyote Man waits, green children walk, and music rises to greet the moon. From the garden, a vast and primal wood is just one spirit-step away...and in that wood is something that threatens the very existence of Tamson House and all who dwell within.

Charles de Lint returns to the spirit-world of his best-selling Moonheart in a splendid work of urban fantasy, bringing myth, music, and magic into our modern world.

Very well entertained

I liked the collection. Charles de Lint is a brilliant writer and the actors performed well.

Tamson house redux

I confess that I did like Moonheart more than this book. For me, Spiritwalk started out at a crawl before it learned to walk, and then the ending was like a sprint. I was not immediately drawn to the stories.but I do like de Lint's characters, and the further into the book that I went, the more my willing suspension of disbelied kicked in. Some of the characters are heroes, but they all must pay a price to resolve the issues in the book. What makes them heroes is their willingness to do what must be done. De Lint succeeds in showing the inner battle of each character to follow the path that leads to a brighter spirit. As usual, I finished a de Lint book andfelt better as a human.

Very disappointed!

Wasn't familiar with this author, but, had stumbled upon Wind in His Heart & really enjoyed it.Thought I'd try a 2nd book of his.Not finding another one with Native American subject, which is my favorite,I chose this book.
The story line was very difficult to follow & actually rather confusing.By the end of the book,if I had to describe the plot of the book,it would be difficult.Lots of things happening,it was like herding chickens to follow along.
The narrator started out ok for the 1st couple chapters, then for some reason did a major switch to a Northeastern accent that was extremely irritating.I got to the end of the book, but, just barely.Kept hoping it'd get better,no luck.He shouldn't continue with the Native American,he did very well with that one.
