Secrets and a patchwork of white lies. Can Alex string together the truth before her life unravels?

Alex Bailey’s heart feels threadbare. Struggling with the dubious practices of her NYC law firm, she’s left her high-profile career and is eager to clear her conscience with a trip home to care for the woman who raised her. But when an ill fate befalls the quilting matriarch, the shocked lawyer suspects someone is covering up murder.

Unpicking the strands of her beloved grandmother’s life, Alex patches together clues that prove her loved one’s death was no accident. And when the practice’s stained history weaves into the culprit’s devious handiwork, she’ll need to stay alive long enough to expose a heartless killer.

Can Alex get to the bottom of a sinister pattern before she ends up buried in a flower garden?

Sewing Suspicion

Alex is heading home to spend some time with her grandmother at her request. When she arrives home, Alex realizes that her grandmother seems at odds with the rest of the family. And then when she mysteriously dies, Alex gets involved in the investigation of what happened to her. There were lots of fun characters in this book! And a great mystery as well.

Fun read/ listen

The narrator was very good. The characters are likeable if sketched in - really perfect for the story. The end was abrupt but fitted the plot. Overall - worth the time.

Family Drama

Sewing Suspicion is book 1 in the Quilting Cozy Mysteries by Kathryn Mykel. There is nothing more intense than family drama. Alex is leaving her big time lawyer job in NYC to return to her small town home and her Nona. I felt that the story has so many layers. Nona does NOT like her son, Jack, new wife. Nona is getting threats and the family drama is thick. The gentle thread in the story is quilting. I found so many unexpected twist and I thought the ending was so great. I am looking forward to listening to book 2.

Wonderful crafty quilt mystery!

Sewing Suspicion by Kathryn Myke! is an outstanding cozy mystery. Alex Bailey left her high powered but ethically questionable law firm to help her grandmother Nona back home on Spruce Street. Within days, there is a heartbreaking and mysterious death. The FBI says that someone put a “hit” out on Alex! There are so many secrets to unravel and Alex does an admirable job! The characters are likable and relatable and the story had a lot of twists and turns. The narration by Stevi Incremona was fabulous! She gave a unique voice to all the characters and brought the story to life.

Entertaining listen

I believe this is one of the author's first books and I will be back for more. I did find parts of it a little ... I can't think of a word confusing, or outlandish maybe, but overall it was just a what a cozy should be - light, interesting, and fun to listen to. I am looking forward to book 2

Finally, a REAL quilting mystery.

So many other "quilting" related mysteries barely talk about quilting or incorporate quilts into the story. However, this one not only shows the author's passion for quilting but actually explains a technique in the story and uses the quilts to help solve a mystery. Great introduction to Alex, the main character, and the rest of the cast in Salem and on Spruce Street. Good, clean fun!

Can't Wait for the Next Book

A great cozy mystery for everyone and even better for quilters or other crafty types. Our heroine leaves her lawyer's position and is immediately caught up in solving a murder. From then on the book is a fun read and the narrator is a big part of that. Highly recommended.
