When I bought this audiobook, I knew Larry was going to be "in your face", but I like direct people. The exercises in the book were shocking, and they shouldn't have been - what's most important to you? Does your spending follow that list? - I didn't know what I didn't know! If you listen to this book, do the exercises and make necessary changes with the honesty and integrity that Larry comes to this project with - things will get better for you financially. Larry may slap you into the real world, but he is also going to be there to help you deal with your reality check. Thanks Larry!
This book is a reality check for all the lazy and irresponsible people out there. People have the habit of saying, "I need to MAKE more money," and complain. What they do need is "to EARN more money"! So use your brain and you can be a winner. Unfortunately in life there are "winners" and "loosers" and this book may not be the right choice for "lazy people" because it will hurt their feelings. But if you have a winning attitude who's fallen behind a little in managing your money, this is definetely the right book for you.
If you have read or listened to "Shut up stop whining" (which is GREAT!), then don't bother with this one. He says the same thing over and over and over. He also contradicts himself by saying in the beginning that other speakers tell you to say "I am rich" or whatever, to yourself everyday and it doesn't work, but 55 minutes into this audio book, he says that in school he did this everyday and that's what worked. ????
This book is the conversation adults need to have with their kids. I wish someone could have said this stuff to me. Thanks so much for being transparent.
The only reason I was not living the life I wanted to live was because I believed the story I told myself about why I could not have it. In other words I believed the excuses I gave my self. Larry, reminded me I had the power to change it and if I didn't, it was because I really didn't want it. thanks Larry, PS you have not because you ask not, so I loved an opportunity to learn more from you by volunteering at one of your events!
this book is great from start to finish. it takes advice that you truly and deeply know and throws it back in your face and makes you look in the mirror at your own mistakes and leads you to call yourself stupid for doing what you know was wrong. listen to this audio book and apply what you learn.
Very informative. Great book if you're able to look yourself in the mirror and be honest about your financial situation. You may not like what Larry has to say, but deep down, you know it's true. Love the authors no BS approach. He doesn't sugar coat things, he just tells the hard, uncomfortable truths.
I generally have trouble with "tough-love" shows and books because they focus on the tough and not the love. They can seem contrived and just an excuse to be mean.
But Larry Winget actually pulls it off in this book. The advice isn't necessarily groundbreaking, but that's sort of the beauty of the book. It's simple and straightforward but delivered in a way that compels you to be more accountable for what's happening with your money.
And he's actually a pretty likable guy who does a good job narrating.
its kindof a kick in the butt. get up and do it. just a opinion so take with a grain of salt. I listened to it in one sitting and it was easy to stay focused.
good motovation to getting up and getting things done.
i think he did fine. kept it real!
you could write these books all day long because there is so much knowlege out there and opinions on how something should be done. good book.
