I've found several of the frames and techniques Jonathan Berent offers in Work Makes Me Nervous to be helpful. Since I finished the audio book about a week ago, I've been using one of the techniques, Mind States Balance, several times a day. I started using it as a practice to see if it helped at all. I've discovered that it helps me quite a bit.
One result of my reading the book and practicing the techniques is that my "phone phobia" has greatly diminished. It used to be almost impossible for me to pick up the phone either to initiate or answer a call. Now I almost always pick up the phone when it rings, even when I don't recognize the number. For me, that's huge!
If they had never bothered. Utter drivel. The first chapeter makes you think there might be some useful information coming, but this was far and away the worst nonsense I have ever read.
