Glad I purchased this book!

Excellent clarification if you're wondering "Is this my mother?" She takes you on a clear mental bus ride of how you ended up with negative, self-defeating thought patterns and habits. She gently guides you in setting yourself free of these but without blaming or bashing your mom. Hers is a diplomatic, knowledge-is-power approach.

Excellent

This book made so much sense of my life. I am a daughter of a narcissistic mother who was incapable of real love and empathy and I ended up with Borderline Personality Disorder. I never truly understand why I was the way I am until I listened to this book. Very helpful.

A game changer

I am almost at the end of the book but couldn't wait to review the book because it gave me such great insights, and comfort. I no longer feel alone, or crazy to feel the way I have felt the past 60 years. Dr. MacBride also helps me validate my anger, my depression, and my despondency. Everything she says comes as such a relief. Thank you, Karyl, with all my heart

So deeply grateful

I really needed this at this moment. It helped me understand my mom and also my sister and my own personality and issues. The recovery will be painful but so worth it. I can’t wait to be on the other side and, if I ever feel less terrified of being a mom myself, I’ll be so happy to have stopped the loop.
Thank you for writing this, Dr. McBride.

Thank You From The Bottom of My Heart

This book is so incredibly helpful. Simply put: it saved my life. Written in clear, gentle terms McBride walked me through the process of recognizing, healing, and recovering from 52 years of narcissistic mother daughter pain and suffering. I now feel free and 100% myself in a way that I never have before.
