This experience was so enriching as the hurt confusion betrayal Kay Arthur speaks of is/was exactly the pain and feelings i am working through.Being an audible book so much more is achieved by the listener as the authors voice is very calming loving understanding and soothing.
As i was listening to the soothing empowering statements made by Ms Arthurs i realised i was truly feeling positive and hopeful and even excited for the days and weeks to come.We are never without Gods love and support and while some folks appear to have more setbacks than others i truly believe it is because those suffering or simply up against it,have valuable lessons to learn in the hope of truly loving life on their journey to become the person God would want them to be.
I am not familiar with this authors work . In choosing this book i got precisely what i was looking for.
What springs to mind is to be able to forgive and to show no viscious hostile anger towards the individuals who clearly did the wrong thing. However Jacob through calm reactions and quite stillnes was capable of keeping his emotions in check.
Honestly if you have suffered through dishonesty betrayal painful truths or a loss of sorts and you want to pull yourself back together then this is the listening material for you.
I just love Kay Arthur's books and I love that she read this herself! This book is very substantial in biblical teaching, wisdom, and grace! I love that Kay is so honest and transparent about her own life, and mistakes that she's made.
I listened to this as well as "Get Out of That Pit" by Beth Moore. If you grew up in a dysfunctional family and/or are in one now, I highly recommend Kay's book over Beth's! Just my personal opinion, but Kay is honest about her painful past and hurts within her family relationships, while Beth is forever telling dozens of cutesy-wootsy stories about her own blissfully happy family that I could not relate to at all, and seemed to sort of "rub salt" in the wounds.
I am so greatful to this study and to hear that Kay Arthur was reading it herself!!!! I felt myself falling into a dark place and she through the Holy Spirit gave me that anchor hold to see beyond the hurt and see My Daddy, My Father, JESUS!!! Going to replay again and again. May God continue to bless you Kay Arthur for you truly are a blessing to the body of Christ.
