Publisher's summary

Your husband learned from an early age to deny his true feelings - and to be silent about his deepest needs. Most men long for greater intimacy with their wives, but they have no idea how to find it.

Best-selling author David Murrow breaks the silence, uncovering the central secret of your spouse’s heart. He reveals what every husband since Adam has felt but has been unwilling or unable to say.

If you really want to know what’s stored up in your husband’s heart, listen to this audiobook. You’ll not only understand him better, you’ll love and respect him more.

Happy with my choice to read

This book came to me at a moment of need and is helped me to see things in a totally different light. I had many waves of emotions, from feeling very hurt and angry to balling my eyes out. I feel like I can better understand and move forward with a new perspective.

Not afraid to tell it like it is!

in this day and age of booming divorce rates as Christian women desiring to keep our marriages find true value and meaning in an honest, straight forward and compelling story of biblical and physiological needs and desires of our husbands, thank you!

Ummm, ok

I get that we were all hurt as children in one way or another and that the best way to change behavior is to change our approach, but some of this is definitely some pity bologna. I suppose they are going through what we went through for so long. Poor things.

Jesus this Jesus that.

An analogy- I dont like raisins. But I do like bread. Unfortunately, the god/man character "Jesus" of Christian mythology was tossed into the dough of this book by the handfuls. Just as I am enjoying the bread, a raisin surfaces, I try to avoid them but soon it seems to be more raisin than bread and what I thought would be a great loaf is now more like fruitcake.
A great read if you enjoy bible passages and Jesus references intermingled with your psychology.

The 1950s called. And they want this book back.

Not sure what else to say, but DUHHHH. Okay, here we go...

Yeah, men like to have sex. Ummmm, so do women - newslash.

Treat people nicely; respect people. We need to chat about that? Really?

Don't earn more than your husband. Okay, not even sure what to do with that...

"When men tell the truth, their wives get upset." This is called DYSFUNCTION. There are people called therapists. Call one. The story about the church elder and poor Earnie and the gay porn thing is JUST CLASSIC. CLASSIC. This is why I don't go to church.

Next rant. Really women start planning their weddings at age 5?!?!? REALLY? Ummm, I think most of us are planning and imaging our Ivy League futures these days, not our weddings. lol - this book is really not relevant for today's American.

I'm not sure any 10-year-old doesn't know most everything that was said in this book. Are some of these recommendations are even still relevant? I was a bit surprised about how many great ratings this book got.

FINALLY, if you need help with your marriage, get the MORT FERTELL program, it is immensely helpful. It actually tells you exactly what to do instead of ambiguous stereotyping and cliches. And yes, it is scripturally based but not obnoxiously.

For Christian Couples ONLY

I found the book quite the opposite as it focused on Men and expectation of their Female submissive wives. Relationships are give and take and not one taking without giving. Atheist Narcissist don’t believe in God and what He can do and they don’t give either. The book did not appeal to me personally and so am giving it a two star for effort.

Christian Men are Misogynists?

Oh my word. I wish I’d read the reviews before I bought this book. As a Christian woman, I am shocked with the contents of this book and deeply disturbed and disgusted that this kind of message is still being circulated in the Christian Community as appropriate.

This book is meant to propagate the perfect submissive wife and abdicate any personal responsibility husbands should have as humans- let alone as husbands. Though Murrow often comes back to say “please don’t be offended” he clearly has the “men will be men” mentality. Shame really.

Not thrilled.

I really couldn’t stand the narrators voice. Which made the book challenging. It was a recommendation, but I didn’t enjoy the book.

Sexist Pig

Interesting concept of women empowerment leading to fatherless children but if your husbands cranky makes him a sandwich? If we dress a certain way then allow men to behavior however they respond? Poor men? The most privileged sex.
