Publisher's summary

This audio edition of the international best seller Way of the Peaceful Warrior is based on the story of Dan Millman, a world-class gymnast who has it all, but is troubled by a vague sense of dissatisfaction with his everyday life. He meets an eccentric old mentor named Socrates, who sets him on a spiritual odyssey that will ultimately deliver or destroy him. Along the way Dan encounters realms of light and darkness, of romance and magic, as he learns what it means to live as a peaceful warrior.

It conveys piercing truths with drama, heart, and humor and speaks directly to the universal quest for fulfillment and happiness, for finding our place in the world. Like and Old Friend

I read this book back in the early 90s when I was in high school. Now, through a variety of spiritual life shifts, it’s message rings more loudly and profoundly than ever. I am grateful for the work as it reveals ways to transition from student to teacher and beyond. Thank you Dan Millman.

Definitley Valuable

I found Dan's book to be quite good. I became familiar with the materiel from watching the movie starring Nick Nolte. I'm almost hesitant to say that I enjoyed the movie even more. Even though the book has much more content. Definitley a worthwhile listen or read

Changed my life

Listened to this mid-breakup and it helped me feel powerful and confident rather than helpless and powerless.

I loved this book, saw the movie after reading it and the movie pales in comparison. I spent time studying Bushido, and several different styles of martial arts. I studied several religions trying to find something that made sense to me to no avail.
This book touches on all of those without getting into them. However with the light fictional approach the message that is shared is undeniably powerful.
I highly recommend this for just an enjoyable story, or for a deeper look into the mind set of a peaceful warrior.

Gaps in audio

Millman may not have been the nest choice as narrator, but he holds his own... especially toward the end.
Unfortunately there are several parts where the audio skips a line or paragraph.
Very cool read. Thanks!
