Training a puppy can be harder than it sounds. We had quite a lot of difficulties but this book gave us some great tips to turn around bad habits and to train our dog in a kind and caring way. The kids loved it!
I wish that I would have purchased this guide back when my Rottweiler was still a precious little baby. He probably wouldn't be the raging misanthropic rascal that he ended up becoming. But with this guide's info, I'm confident that I'll be up for a fresh start when I finally decide to get a new puppy
Honestly speaking, i do not know, since it was my first i tried for training of dogs, and it was really effective.
the book shares 30 easy steps, one can follow to train the dog. i must add these steps were really useful and effective. within a month my dog was able to do the tricks and performances i always wanted him to learn. every pet owner desires that his dog be the beset among all, then let it happen. this book is easy to follow and implement. highly recommended.
Yes, my 9 year old and I listened to it together, it was great to have this as an activity for us to do together to learn about the new puppy.
She spoke very clearly and was easy to follow.
Yes, there were many funny quips, which made it more fun for me and my son.
We learned a lot of things we knew nothing about and are now more prepared to help train our puppy.
Yes, if I had a friend with a puppy I'd definitely recommend it. It's short and straight to the point. Some of the advice is self explanatory if you've had dogs before but there's still a lot of useful information in it.
Using positive reinforcement rather than doling out punishments is something that (I'm very happy to say) worked. And it kept a positive atmosphere in the house.
I really hate when I see disobedient dogs pulling on their leash, barking on just about everybody and act aggressively toward other dogs. I have recently bought a Golden Retriever puppy for my son and that is the reason I've purchased this audiobook. There is a lot of work to be done to train him, but this book is full of useful information on how to do it properly and everything is explained in a simple and easy to understand manner. I would definitely recommend it to all new puppy owners.
I really enjoyed listening to these amazing tips from Kate Anderson. I don't want to give away anything, because you just need to pick up a copy for yourself, but there were a few things mentioned that my family and friends have done for years in an effort to train dogs that Kate points out, really aren't a good idea!! I was amazed as I really pondered it all.
I haven't had a puppy for a few years and I'm ready to bring another little guy or gal into my home. I picked this book up so I could refamiliarize myself with ways to ensure that it goes smoothly. Puppies are a lot of work! Lol Anyway, pick this up if you're in the same position or if a little fur ball is giving you hell. You won't regret it.
I drive a lot and it was easier to follow the book in audio format, and you get a better idea of tone for talking to dogs.
There are a massive amount of puppy training books out there, I know that I have read many and those seem to be full of information but this is that information less of the added space fillers.
A nice warm voice, keeps you involved
The part dealing with table manners and the following one of barking, you learn the reasons behind the two difficult areas and it does move you a bit when you realize what a pup is feeling
The book did give some good advice and some great tips, but it was SO repetitive, which made it kind of boring. One chapter even repeated itself. I wish it did have more information about the correct responses to a puppy, instead of always telling you what not to do. How ever, the information I did get out of the book was very interesting and somethings I would not have even thought about. Over all good.
VERY useful book! Training dogs is not easy but a guide like this really does help the process quite a lot. I wanted to learn from mistakes I made previously when training another puppy…i now realise just how many mistakes I did make!!! A short book but well worth the money and got to the point quickly!
About a month ago we got the second puppy in our house and we were determined to learn from mistakes we made with the first one! Training a new puppy really is not easy at all, but books like this really help. I wasn’t sure if it would be better in print or audio, but i actually really enjoyed the audible version. It made it easier to consume, I was able to listen to it when driving or when doing housework. All the tips and advice was very easy to implement and really helped a lot. Very good narration. Great value for money.
"Fast and easy puppy training"
This audio book gets right to the point which I really appreciated. It offers fast, effective, sound advice for training your dog. What I liked best was that it takes a positive approach to puppy training. This means you get to spend more time praising and playing with your new family member rather than being encouraged to shout or scold them!
