Just Awful

What would have made The Wisdom of the Breath better?

I would not recomend this book to anyone. I thought I was buying 2 hours of guided meditations...but this author rambles on and on and on for over an hour before you even get to the first meditation. In addition to that, I found his voice to....soft....which made it difficult for me to listen too. I would suggest to anybody who is considering purchasing this recording that you listen to the sample first.

Good but not his best

Bodhipaksa's performances on mindfulness meditation sessions are always exceptional. What I personally did not like about this one was that there was that a good portion of the session was dedicated to telling his story of how he came to Buddhism. I guess it is more of a problem with the title which is somewhat inaccurate in its reflection of the actual content.

Ever refreshing, ever centering

Beautifully imagined, written and read by the author. It's a go to on my shelf and even though I usually don't revisit material I can use this audio over and over again without getting bored or uninterested. I am also shy of material that preaches or is religious in any way, and I find Bodhipaksa is able to share wisdom without proselytizing.

Although he recommends a seated posture, I often use the meditations to help me rest after a busy day/week or particularly stressful event. If only I knew how to disable the "We hope you have enjoyed this audiobook" I could really launch into deep sleep from a tranquil and centered place. :) Sure, it's off label, but in a world of distress, I'll use any helpful tool provided.
