This book is pragmatical, not philosophical; a practical manual, not a treatise upon theories. It is intended for the men and women whose most pressing need is for money; who wish to get rich first, and philosophize afterward. It is for those who have, so far, found neither the time, the means, nor the opportunity to go deeply into the study of metaphysics, but who want results and who are willing to take the conclusions of science as a basis for action, without going into all the processes by which those conclusions were reached.
It is expected that the listener will take the fundamental statements upon faith, just as he would take statements concerning a law of electrical action if they were promulgated by a Marconi or an Edison; and, taking the statements upon faith, that he will prove their truth by acting upon them without fear or hesitation. Every man or woman who does this will certainly get rich; for the science herein applied is an exact science, and failure is impossible.
For the benefit, however, of those who wish to investigate philosophical theories and so secure a logical basis for faith, I will here cite certain authorities: The monistic theory of the universe; the theory that One is All, and that All is One; that one Substance manifests itself as the seeming many elements of the material world - is of Hindu origin, and has been gradually winning its way into the thought of the western world for 200 years. It is the foundation of all the Oriental philosophies, and of those of Descartes, Spinoza, Leibnitz, Schopenhauer, Hegel, and Emerson. The reader who would dig to the philosophical foundations of this is advised to read Hegel and Emerson for himself.
In writing this book I have sacrificed all other considerations to plainness and simplicity of style, so that all might understand. The plan of action laid down therein was deduced from the conclusions of philosophy; it has been thoroughly tested, and bears the supreme test of practical experiment; it works. If you wish to know how the conclusions were arrived at, read the writings of the authors mentioned above; and if you wish to reap the fruits of their philosophies in actual practice, read this book and do exactly as it tells you to do.
In Mr. Wattles' book, The Science of Being Great, you will get methods, plans, carefully outlined instruction, for the highest self-development and training for efficient living.
The Science of Being Well: If you are well this book will tell you how to keep so. If you are seeking better health this book is for you.
Each book builds upon the previous one to construct a complete, simple, practical, easy-to-understand, step-by-step system for getting rich, being healthy, and becoming successful.

This is NOT a recording of the original books. The content has been heavily modified to suit the opinions of the editor and it has not been clearly indicated what they changed. If I wanted to read about that the WAPF thougth about what one should eat I would buy a book from them. Very dissapointing. Do not buy this book.
He read much too fast. No pauses for paragraphs, chapter changes, etc...
Content is timeless but trilogy is out of order.
He read way too fast, as if a teacher was standing over him rushing him. No pauses for effect, no pauses in between major ideas or chapters. His style was so disruptive, I had a difficult time focusing on the material. I'd love to find the book with a different narrator.
I would probably listen to it a second time, but not a third. The narration is fine; the writing is definitely dated.
This is one (or rather, three) of a kind.
Jason did a good job with narration. He had some excellent content to work with, but it was buried in a writing style that was obsolete a hundred years ago.
Thoughts create things. They didn't actually use those words, but they sum up the whole law of attraction (which may not have actually been so named at the time these books were written).
I'm a self professed self-improvement junkie. My focus, to be honest, has been largely on increasing my financial wherewithal. I've read and listened to material by some of the greatest on this topic, including Harv Eker, Joe Vitale, and many others. I worked backwards to find the roots of their teaching - and it all seems to start with this guy with the goofy name, Wallace D. Wattles.
So my advice to you is, if you want to improve your health, your wealth, or your general position in the world, start here and go in whatever direction is appropriate for you, rather than working backwards as I did. This is the source.
This trilogy is out of order. The first book in the series is: "The Science of Getting Rich", followed by "the Science of Being Great" then "the Science of Being Well." This audio book starts with "the Science of Being Great." "The Science of Getting Rich" is last and I don't know if this was intentional or not. Either way I'm getting a refund and will purchase the other version of this book from Big Happy Family, LLC. Don't buy this version unless you want to save a dollar and don't mind titles out of order.

A powerful book explaining another excellent philosophy, like Think and Grow Rich. A must listen.
