Clarity, Focus, Purpose - Mystery's of Manhood

John Eldredge is one man, but he is my kind of man. I don't know if this book will speak to every man or explain every man, but I believe that manhood is in crisis and John does a great job of explaining what we, the brotherhood of all men have lost. I am a Disciple of Jesus Christ (aka Christian) and I don't believe that manhood can be separated from God. In other words, I don't believe a male can be his best and lead, teach, love, protect and serve without first submitting all he is to his Creator. If you don't believe that now, maybe you will after you read this book. In today's world, it seems hard to find real men. Most males are sexually obsessed and dominated by selfish childish desires. Male mentors are difficult to find, but are sorely needed. I believe John explains a path to find manhood. I hope that it is yours, and that you are blessed by reading this book. If you are a woman who longs to understand men, then maybe this will help you too. It is through humility and submission to the King of kings that we arrive at true manhood. Because only in God's Strength can we be hero's and kings and men of honor. Men that God's children and daughters deserve. Men that can change our world. Join me brothers! The battle is raging but we have the victory, and I welcome your aid. You were created for this time. So dare to be fully alive and fully in it. Claim your inheritance in Christ!

A great sequel to and expansion of "Wild At Heart" - Highly Recommended!

I thoroughly enjoyed this deep exploration of the Masculine Journey and found it refreshing and encouraging. Eldredge carries on the ideas and themes from "Wild At Heart" and expands on them in fantastic and engaging ways. Kelly Ryan's narration is easy to listen to and expresses a comprehension of the subject matter.

I would definitely encourage men seeking guidance on their journey to venture into this work and prayerfully consider what it expresses. Though no human work is without flaws, God can use them to speak to our lives as He has used this book in mine. I would highly recommend a familiarity with "Wild At Heart," for which this book serves as an informal sequel. "Wild at Heart" showed me there is more to the Christian life and masculine journey than we have been led to believe. And "The Way of the Wild Heart" gave specific and relatable detail to the ideas and themes of the first book.

Can't wait to revisit it and explore more in this series!

Too stong on the religious side this time...

I LOVE Wild at Heart but found this book to be TOO religion focused. In Wild at Heart I felt he did a much better job balancing his AWESOME life lessons for raising boys with religion. That said, it was still worth the listen.

The heart

This book brings clarity to the spirit, mind and soul of a man. Teaching him and training the way of the heart. It helped me to get a grasp onto the words of the emotions and feelings I had as a child but had no words to the emotion to bring clarity and understanding of what was so real then. It brought healing that I didn’t know I so desperately needed.

A MUST read

The wisdom filled in this book is astounding. I will forever be thankful to God for bringing this to me while my boys are young. The way Eldridge speaks wisdom without religious jargon is such a refreshment!

Wisdom Deep and Wide

For a man of any age, young or old, who is looking for a bit of hope inside a drab and meaningless routine of life or striving for a bit of encouragement in facing the nagging battles of life that never seem to wane, there is something here for that man. Something good, beautiful, and full of life-giving power.

A must read for a Man

Initiation into manhood is missing in our American culture. This book was beyond helpful in establishing a framework for understanding what is possible in beginning that journey no matter what age you are when reading.
