this book will make you think way outside of the box and look back in and wonder...question some of the simple habits and addictions we have formed in our everyday life..definitely invite you consider making important changes in your life simply by identifying your highest values. this is my first audible book and was able to get through this book in my car on the way home and back everyday...good read...will definitely purchase the hard copy to have home as well.
If you sometimes feel conflicted like you know you need or want to do something but just can't bring yourself do it this book will help. This guy has put a lot of thought into these ideas and I think he is right that values are our core drivers in life. We can achieve what we want logically as long as we link these new goals to our values. He uses questions to help link things we hate to do to things we value. I have felt that my conflicting values cause me to procrastinate or avoid doing things altogether and missing opportunities. From this book I learned how to lower and raise specific values and where values come from. For example, to lower a value you have to ask yourself what the drawback are of this value (What are the drawbacks of listening to negative opinions of family members? List 50). Or to raise values ask "Why do I love writing TPS reports? Cleaning, or (other hated task)? How is this going to help me reach my goal and fulfill my highest value?" List 50.
The point of this book is that reality is all about perception and he gives you the tools to manipulate your perception however you like.
I am going to buy is other book after this one. I almost didn't get this book because another reviewer said he was all hype, I took a chance and am happy I did because his content is very unique from other books. I think he is helping people live with alignment and self-authenticity.
