"If there is any one man [who] has helped me better understand what it means to be a leader, it's John Maxwell." (Dave Dravecky)
"... you are about to turn a corner in your life... that will lead you on a successful journey toward living your dreams." (Robert Schuller)
Has some good points, hence, the 3 stars. Too much self glorification and share of personal stories that don't really add to what is being preached. Too many over-used and tired quotes; some good ones too. Looks like someone who has read a lot of material on leadership and personal development and then just rehashed these ideas once again like so many books do these days. There are better books out there. Try 'The Magic of Thinking Big'.
The Success Journey is a must have for anyone searching for success, direction, and purpose in life. Whether you're an entrepreneur who is in a rump, a corporate businessman that's on his way to the top, or a student who's just starting out.
This book is very highly recommended!
as always John Maxwell knows his leadership skills and delivers them point by point. I would recommend this book for business or personal gross.
Listening to this audio book my John C Maxwell has given me a more thoughtful perspective about establishing balance between your career and family life. Leadership can be learned if one is committed to discovering and applying the principles that are discussed in the chapters of this audio book.
when you consider the hugh number of aphorisms and cliches contained therein. No tired, over-borrowed quote is omitted. Yogi really must be on par with Einstein or Hegel in Maxwell's universe. But don't take me seriously. This is the perfect book for someone who thinks with only one side of their brain: For the devotee of checkers but not chess: For all the wide eyed-11 year-olds who burn to make it in life. Maxwell is has found his niche: He writes in two dimensions for all those suits out there that think in these 2 dimensions.
