informative and practical
English is my 2nd language, I bought this book because I realized my voice and spoken English had prevented me from pursuing many oppertunities. This book give me much-needed information on how to improve voice clarity, projection, intonation, smoothness and how to deal with voice difficulties. After only a few weeks, now I feel that people, who are in communication with me, are far less likely to ask me to repeat myself or stare at me blankly.

This book is extremely out dated. Painfully so. None the less... it has allot of really good information in it. Very helpful, everyone needs learn this stuff.

Good, but a lot of filler
It seems that the publisher pushed for this to be a certain minimum length. The first four and half chapters are filled with repetition and often seemed like an info-mercial - filled with teasers about what they were going to tell you later, but very little real insight. These chapters could have easily been condensed into one introduction section, maybe 15 minutes max.
Beginning near the end of Chapter 5, the content became useful and I gained more insight than I had on a different voice training cd I listened to years ago.

Enjoyable!
Im spanish and the book helped me learn how to assess my voice objectively and how to look for speech patterns that i could control. I learned about pychological energy vitality and tonal support. I recommend this audio book for anyone who is interested in mastering this skill of language and for those working in US business settings.
