The Science of Getting Rich | [Wallace D. Wattles]

The Science of Getting Rich

The Science of Getting Rich is a classic inspirational and financial book authored by Wallace D. Wattles. It works as a guide for individuals interested in uncovering the secrets of getting rich through strategies and case studies. A timeless title, it should be in the personal audio library of anyone who is interested in learning how to become wealthy. This book has often been compared to the Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, and it works well as a companion to that title.

"A very simple and direct message"

This is one of the best success books that I have come across. This is the book that motivated the author of The Secret to turn her life aorund. His philosophy is very simple and direct:

    * All world is made of the same 'thinking' substance
    * Your thought is the key to your success
    * Think your success first in mind
    * Believe & act like it is already achieved
    * Be grateful for the future success now
    * Get out of competitive mind & be creative, there is a limitless supply out there
    * Act in the current environment in a 'certain way'
    * Certain way means -- doing all you can do in a day, every day & doing each thing efficiently & successfully

I recommend this book to everyone whole heartedly.

    Success to all.

    "Great Book!"
Where does The Science of Getting Rich rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've really enjoyed all of the audiobooks that I've downloaded from Audible, but this one strikes me as being particularly important. I'll have this book on repeat for a long time.

"I would call this the science of morons"

The writer tellsyou everything that should already be common knowledge. There are no real pearls of wisdom and this will not help you to get rich.It may help the author to get rich.Believe me if you are atleast 45 years old you know everything the author is saying already you do not need to listen this book or waste your time.

    "Neale"

Only made it half way thru and gave up. Its beliefs are too selfish for my liking. Its hard to see how this lead to The Secret. It mentions your thoughts lead to your reality but that idea has been around for decades - As A Man Thinketh and Think and Grow Rich. Don't get your hopes up its old fashioned and selfish.

"It really gets into your bones"

I'd have to admit to being a bit dubious at first. How could a man who had written a book at the start of the last century possibly have a message for me, a 21st century woman? It was a different planet back then, entirely. But my sister was in the middle of reading it and reckoned it was great so I decided what the heck. 3 weeks later and I'm listening to it every day. Where other books failed to keep me reading/listening again and again, this one does. 'There is a thinking stuff....'. You'll get the hang of it!

    "High Cost of Wealth"

Whether his ideas are relevant to getting rich or not, some things, that he claimed, can be now seen as foolish and downright dangerous. For instance, at one point he says, quite cheerily, if soil became depleted (or words to that effect) then science would invent a substitute. Would he be so cavalier, today, about the honey bee, or indeed the planet? Individual wealth creation is fine as long as it doesn't cost the earth. The book needs to be read with discretion. His avocation of reading it everyday and avoiding other books of the same ilk, is a recipe for brain washing, especially with statements, like the above, in the book. 2 stars is generous!
