Now featuring a new introduction by Dr. M. Scott Peck, the twenty-fifth anniversary edition of the classic bestseller The Road Less Traveled, celebrated by The Washington Post as “not just a book but a spontaneous act of generosity.”

Perhaps no book in this generation has had a more profound impact on our intellectual and spiritual lives than The Road Less Traveled. With sales of more than seven million copies in the United States and Canada, and translations into more than twenty-three languages, it has made publishing history, with more than ten years on the New York Times bestseller list.

Written in a voice that is timeless in its message of understanding, The Road Less Traveled continues to help us explore the very nature of loving relationships and leads us toward a new serenity and fullness of life. It helps us learn how to distinguish dependency from love; how to become a more sensitive parent; and ultimately how to become one’s own true self.

Recognizing that, as in the famous opening line of his book, “Life is difficult” and that the journey to spiritual growth is a long one, Dr. Peck never bullies his readers, but rather guides them gently through the hard and often painful process of change toward a higher level of self-understanding.©1986 M. What made the experience of listening to The Road Less Traveled the most enjoyable?

I loved this book so much. Dr. Peck's insights are really profound. I'll have to listen to it again in the not-too-distant future, since i'm sure i'll get even more out of it on another go-round.

What about M. Scott Peck’s performance did you like?

He has a great speaking voice. Clear, comforting and serious at the same time.

Gentle Enlightening

I first read this one (in paperback) in 2015. I really enjoyed it at the time. I decided to come back to it this month because I wanted a refresher. I also figured I’d see the content differently this time around, being six years older now.

I opted for the audiobook version just to save some time. I thought it was pretty good. Its no-nonsense, tough-love approach is one that I think many of us (myself included) could benefit from.

My only complaint is that the audiobook version is an abridged one; I would've loved the entire original book on tape instead of a slimmed-down version. If you’re thinking about grabbing this one yourself, I’d opt for the full, written version for that reason.

Paperback version better; audio still good though

Scott Peck uses this book to describe, in a very logical manor, the essence and very likely the meaning of life. His words are truly inspired, and for one who is willing and open, provide a sense of challenge and a strong peace all at the same time.

One of the most important books ever written

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

This is among the most influential books I have read in my life.

The question "what does love require?" Has followed me everywhere I go, and into every situation.

Few books can lead someone to what it means to be a complete person in the way this book does.
