Critic reviews

"What can a book written in the 1920s tell modern investors about their finances? A whole lot if it's George Clason's delightful set of parables that explain the basics of money." (Los Angeles Times)

Great book with great advice!

What other book might you compare The Richest Man in Babylon to and why?

Investing in Gold and Silver by Mike Maloney because they both give great investing advice.

Have you listened to any of Richard Ferrone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Nope.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Ha yes it was. His stories are very interesting and very relevant. It is a great way to learn. I always found myself wanting to hear how the stories ended.

Any additional comments?

It is very good investing advice. The people who follow the book's advice will do very well financially.

My favorite Persoonal Finance Book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love this book. I also love the way it is read.

This is my all time favorite personal finance book as it guides you using stories that are engaging and that address obvious questions most of us wonder about.

What about Richard Ferrone’s performance did you like?

His voice is perfect for the story and I loved the way he represents the different personalities in the book.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Richest Man in Babylon?

All the principles especially putting aside at least 10% of all you earn, making arrangements to pay off debt, having insurance, investing.

I like the way the book says, your 'gold' is an army working for you. Makes me ask myself how hard my money is working and if I have to look for ways for it to work harder.

Wonderful For Basics Of Personal Finance

I've heard of this book before and finally got around to hearing it and I have to say I was impressed. Though the book lingers in the corners of novice level personal finance, it provides time tested financial advice in parables that allows you to not think of the lessons but simply absorb them. I enjoyed the reader who read with conviction and was very clear in his words. I would only suggest that now in todays economy, the lesson of saving 10 percent of your income should be updated to 15, but besides that it was very very helpful in helping me teach my son some BASICS on personal finance and getting him to see the advantages of building personal wealth as oppose to living a high consumer life style.
