I really loved this book! I think it's a bit controversial because anything that has to do with religion generally is. I wouldn’t say it's all about religion but it quotes the bible more than a few times so you should definitely know that before purchasing it. For me it bridged the gap I had from completely "buying" the law of attraction. I have read the secret and several other books about the law of attraction but I just didn't buy it. I didn't think it could be as simple as thinking it, visualizing it and it will happen. This book put it in a different perspective for me. I love that he works in a lot of real stories that happened to people he knows. For me, those stories really helped. The most important thing that helped me was that at some point in the book he also addresses the fact that as Christians we sometimes are taught that it's bad so be rich or that it's evil to want for money so we might have conflicts between what we want and what we are "supposed" to want. For example, if you are jealous of someone that has more money than you, you might criticize them for having money but really you want it for yourself. He says those are conflicting thoughts because you are criticizing what you want. Those thoughts are just the reason why you don't have it in the first place. Because on one hand you want it but in essence you are also saying you don't because you are putting that same thing down when you criticize it. According to him you have to get everything in line, your believes, your thoughts, your actions, and your expectancy that what you want, you will one day get. Oh and something else that is important, you also have to give up the how. He says to just believe you will receive it but leave the HOW it will happen up to your subconscious mind to get it for you. You should definitely pick this book up if you feel like the law of attraction doesn't have enough substance this might just do the trick to help you as it helped me.
I am a clinical psychologist who uses hypnosis and psychotherapy to help those with physical pain and emotional pain issues. This book has been very helpful to many of my patients as supplemental work outside my office. Many patients have report the excellence in the blending of spirituality and psychology. The very thing I do in the office is emphasized in this book--with great practicality.
Milton Erikson's hypnosis works.
Mr. Culp has a "superb" voice and wish he did "every" single audiobook.
Your subconscious is the key to happiness or to misery--heaven or hell.
Please have Mr. Jason Culp narrate more books!!!

I found it beneficial to have this in audio. I was able to concentrate faster in 20 minute segments easily.
Jason has a nice voice and keeps you engaged.
There were several. One about the effect that resentment has and how to release it. Another had to do with bringing things to pass through your thoughts. Finally the thoughts on growing older was right on target.
Extremely insightful in many places. Looking back at my youth and enjoying my 50's with more passion and vibrance, I think this title could be a wonderful addition to your self-help library.
Just to set the record straight, I reviewed Meditation and Psychotherapy accidently as another book I got, unfortunately it will not allow me to change anything but the stars, Audible said you cannot change it or delete. the book is AWESOME! Tara Brach is Awesome! The book I was rating I returned and was aweful. sorry
I have listened to this audible and will listen to it again and again as I am sure I will find tid bits I missed. The information in this book is life changing!
Excuses Be Gone because in that book Wayne Dyer explains how your thoughts create who and what you are.
I listen to it over and over.
When you realize you really CAN control your destiny.
This is a must have for anyone who really wants to take charge of their life and not just complain about their lot in life.
One of my favorite that I will always go back to listening. Very good listen. Good explanation of its title. Cause and effect better explained than any other book in regards to subconcious mind and why it works.
I've been an Audible junkie from way before it was cool.
People who would enjoy 7 hours of encouragement to think more positively to resonate with the universal wisdom of God (your subconscious). This book is replete with unreferenced anecdotes that aren't even framed as arguments, but it is one mystical riff endlessly regurgitated in what sounds like a 2am infomercial promising you power, riches, and more virility.
Absolutely. There is no integrity in this genre if this is a best sellar. Not even pop-pyschology, not even pop philosophy...pop cliches, and imprecise, ambiguous language, always delivered with comic hyperbolic claims.
The performance is strong. He was working with utter tripe. He didn't get to steak, but maybe we got to sweet breads.
Anger that I lost a credit. Sadness that this is considered a best seller. Disappointment that I did, indeed, suffer through every second hoping we'd get past the same story told over and over again. I swear, sometimes I feel like the author wrote a chapter forgetting that he already wrote all of it in the previous chapter.
